Pack to battle Texas tonight @ 6:30pm

Unfortunately, another exciting hoops game won’t be televised and will only be available to folks with ESPN3.

Please post pre game conversation and any previews that you want to share in this entry.

Of course, there is conversation about you know who going on here.

But, of more interest to me is discussion of Scott Wood’s injury and its impact on his availability tonight.

Only reason I can think of, why damn near no games of the Ticketcity Classic aren’t on T.V., is the tournament sponsors couldn’t ink a big-time T.V. deal, unlike the Charleston Classic, Maui Invitational, the one in Puerto Rico and all the other tournaments being played now.

    ESPN3 is better than nothing.

Keeping fingers crossed that we can beat Texas tonight.

Sammy’s down by campus had Saturday’s bball game on many TV’s (ESPN3 feed) including some of the small ones right at your own hightop table…

Tommy Burleson was even there on Saturday night during the second half of the bball game… Hard to miss him walking in a crowded bar…

    Go Pack…

When I’m in N.C., using Time-Warner Cable, the reception is terrible. However; when I’m in Virginia using Comcast, the reception is great! Unforunately, I’m in N.C. tonight!!!

“…..I simply cannot fathom why this game is not televised on some channel that doesn’t lag and require a super-secret portal that requires a Contra-like password to enter…..”

I think it’s because no one in Texas cares at all about basketball right now. I went over to their Scout board to see if could learn more about the team, and there is bascially zero interest in basketball over there right now. One thread with a post a few days ago about the Rhode Island win. Nothing at all regarding their play in this tournament including their loss the other night.

Anyone happen to know a bar in Charlotte that might stream the game?

Watching ESPN3 does mean some changes for me but better ESPN3 than no TV at all.

Listening to Gott on the Wolfpack radio network – his pregame comments. There is a plan for tonight and already some alternate plans if plan A doesn’t work. He did talk in general but it was 1000x more specific that any pregame comments last year. Another positive for me.

Texas bigs are giving us some trouble around the block. Painter’s step out jumper is going to be huge this season. Glad to know we’ve got Wood and De Thuey available.

Aj and Calvin need to run that pick and roll all night long

They are getting way too many easy baskets. Eliminate those and it’s a close game. UUGGHHH!!

Comments anyone for those of us who can’t watch? Why are we losing double digits??? They that good?

  11. packalum44 11/21/2011 at 7:54 PM #

Texas is 100% from free throw and better from behind the arc.

  12. packalum44 11/21/2011 at 7:56 PM #

Texas is shooting 57% compared to our 34%. I assume they are just more athletic than us and controlling the tempo, knocking us back to our heels. That plus we only have one good shooter.

I’m fed up with ESPN3 live streaming. Damn thing freezes up every minute or so.

Yes, we’re playing plinko around the rim.

I was able to watch the Vandy game on my phon on the first row sports site. Tonight it has this big ugly box that says “u are missing the plugin to play the video,” and the video is faded out. Whenever I click the box, it opens another window and gets ready to download what it calls the “ilivid download manager.” I looked it up on cnet, and “ilivid download manager” supposedly is safe. But I downloaded it from the cnet site, and every time I plus in the first row weblink, everything locks up.
    Ideas anybody?

We are bigger and stronger they are quicker and faster. That’s what Rick Barnes said but I rephrased who ‘we’ is to be us. In BB, faster and quicker will win.

I think their overall talent level is simply significantly higher than ours.

We close the lead down to 10 and then as soon as we do they pop it up back to 15.

This J’Covan Brown is the real deal.

Texas is 5-10 from 3 point land while we are 1-8.

We are just a little outclassed plus they are shooting better. A lot better. They look like an Elite 8 team (again).

A set play out of the timeout and painter stops the bleeding. I am impressed.

  17. hoop 11/21/2011 at 8:36 PM #

The good news is that we are still playing strong, not giving up, and we’ll continue to improve. I am not overly disappointed in this game.

  18. 6-4Sequoia 11/21/2011 at 8:36 PM #

    Finally they miss a three

  19. 6-4Sequoia 11/21/2011 at 8:37 PM #

    And Wood hits one.

  20. 6-4Sequoia 11/21/2011 at 8:39 PM #

That was clearly offensive interference on Texas

  21. 6-4Sequoia 11/21/2011 at 8:40 PM #

We don’t need to start settling for threes. Down 13 with 9 to go.

  22. hoop 11/21/2011 at 8:41 PM #

Lots of not-very-smart fouls at the top of the key by us. Good news is that we are hustling on D.

  23. hoop 11/21/2011 at 8:43 PM #

4th foul on J’Covan Brown plus a Technical so he fouls out! 9 point lead. We can do this!!

  24. 6-4Sequoia 11/21/2011 at 8:43 PM #

Technical foul shots plus Leslie two get us back within 10

  25. 6-4Sequoia 11/21/2011 at 8:44 PM #

    Absolutely hoop
