Today is the first of the Pack’s three remaining realistic shots (along with BC and the Holes) to win an ACC game. TOB would be advised to win all three if he wants to retire next year instead of next month. More importantly, a loss today would effectively end the season. See you kids this afternoon.

    I realize that they get the ball back on the half, but that right there is nothing but a single reminder as to why I do not roll with O’Brien.

    Our D didn’t seem too tired late in the half to just run the clock out. Maybe I’m wrong.

    I agree, it just speaks to medicority. We have absolutely zero killer instinct and it starts at the top. There is NO reason why you don’t keep playing there — no real risk whatsover. Throw it downfield, maybe get a completion or two, or a pass interference call, etc. If it doesn’t work, punt. UVA can’t move the ball. Mind boggling.

    Way too conservative effort of time management for a team that needs to find a some points. I understand the strategy but we had momentum at that point and just passed on the opportunity.

    We have done whatever we’ve wanted to do with VA’s defense as long as our receivers catch the ball. We could have at least gotten a field goal.

    What recruits want to play Grandpa football? Absolutely no fun on the field for these guys and we should know better. TOB is on cruise control to retirement.

    I still am trying to figure out how you get a concussion in warmups. Did he try to run through a locked door or something?

    BTW – First time I have seen the NC State “ESPNU” logo. The artist did a good job with it.

    With our depth situation, better to shorten the game and not give up a big momentum changer before the half. Plus, zero confidence in our WRs to run an effective two minute drill.

    I usually hate running out the clock too. But when we ran the first play and it didn’t gain us better field position, the right call. Not the popular call, but right. The offensive gameplan has been fantastic, IMHO. It usually is after the bye week.

    BJD – I completely agree on the gameplan. A couple of catches by WRs and we would be up by a couple scores. Creecy has looked good thus far as well. We are going to need him to put in quality time the rest of the year.
