Don’t take away our irrational hallucinations, they are all we have left!

I think the team will be better, but how many and when do the players buy in completely will tell the tale. We could surprise some people.

I don’t expect a miracle this year or next. However, I do expect a more focused team that plays hard. We have an excellent set of assistant coaches that should provide a huge boost on the player development side.

I am extremely excited about basketball because Gott and Co. has done an excellent job with the “marketing” side to this point. There is a buzz with this group that feels and sounds good. Now we get to start and see part 2 of the show and find out if they can coach what we have on the court.

Regardless, it is going to be nice having the media on our side for a change (ESPN at least for a while). Gott is excellent with the media.

Here’s hoping for one game better than last year.

I am pretty much reserving judgement until after the legends pre-season tournament. Texas,Oregon State and Vanderbuilt are pretty good teams. If we are squashed like a bug in both games, then look out.

As I watched our football team struggle with much lesser teams (Liberty) and then lose to Wake and get wiped out by Cincinnati, I knew it was not going to be the 9-3 season we had all hoped for. If by a miracle we beat UNC, MD and BC then we deserve a bowl game.

Being a seasoned State alumnus and fan, I will hold my judgement and my enthusiasm until we see what Gott brings. I have seen way too many ups and downs the get too excited.

A great coach could lead this team to the dance. Could. Wouldn’t bet on it. Seen Gary do it many-a-times with less talent. Gott is no Gary but he’s no Lowe either. Expect between 3-6 more ACC wins this year. If we do worse than 3, big red flag.

Bobby Lutz won’t be here long, and maybe not just him. We also need to have some contingencies in place for future assistant coaches to build a program.

I’m relaxed with regards to our basketball program. I like our returning players, I like our incoming players, and I like our future commits. I like what I’ve seen from Gott so far, and we have no reason to think he’ll be a bad coach (until he proves us wrong).

I don’t expect anything, but I feel like we might be pleasantly surprised this year. But if we’re not, it’s not the end of the world. Because I think we have the best outlook for the future since the days of Valvano. Granted, we’ve thought that before. But that doesn’t mean it’s not true this time around. I’m pretty sure we don’t have another Les Robinson, HWSNBN, or Sidney.

Guess we’ll know more in 3-4 years. So until then, I am happy for the good and hopeful for better things tomorrow.

I like the commercial. Simple but good IMO. I do not expect great things or a NCAA bid but I do honestly like what I’ve seen and heard from the coach and recently the players and I do expect to see better hustle and attitude and overall better play this year. I also expect some struggles but there’s no doubt the talent is there to do some good things.

I hope I heard wrong but it sounded like mark Armstrong on wtvd said that Warren had picked Georgetown over State. Any body else hear that?

Beat me up side the head wit a 2×4 again . …GO PACK!! Only thing I ask is to not have to watch a beatdown like Wisconsin layed on us last year .. . is that too much to ask?

If it was leaked that Warren had picked Gtown over State, it would be all over the blogosphere by now.

I just can’t imagine Warren picking Gtown over State, all things considered.

    Here’s a good write-up about Warren’s pending commitment:
