Bring it! Football season will be over Sunday, so let’s see if Gott can coach.

  2. eas 10/31/2011 at 1:34 PM #

I’m ready. Heck who wouldn’t be after the crap we suffer through currently on the football field.

Although I did think the commercial was pretty cheaply done. Still ready to see them in action. Go pack!!!

  3. packof81 10/31/2011 at 1:35 PM #

Agreed. This football season is going around the bowl and down the hole.

I’m excited for bball and even more excited for the future of bball. Cant wait for the games at Reynolds. Hoping for some sort of miracle come Saturday.

Our 2011 football season ended Thursday night, September 22 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Since our chances of winning any of the four remaining football games is marginal at best, I am ready to focus on our basketball program.

I’m optimistic that the new coaching staff will make our team better this year and we will make significant progress in competing in the conference.

I hope I can say the above about our football program soon.

I feel really good about Gottfried and this years team. I’m thinking we can make it to the NCAA first round but probably not much further. I love the direction the program is moving forward into though and I hope Debbie gets to hire a football coach too.

Sorry. But I’ve been a State fan long enough to know. Basketball is going to be the same crap sandwich we’re currently eating this football season. I hope I’m wrong. But we should all be used to it by now.

  9. Jediwolf 10/31/2011 at 5:30 PM #

You are wrong, we have enough talent on this team to make the big dance. GO PACK! GO GOTT!

hope always springs eternal for us state fans. I am prepared to starting becoming optimistic sometime in the future about basketball. I am prepared to see some success and expect a fair amount of improvement from the crap sandwiches we have been eating for so long.

If you think Saturday against UNC will be bad, imagine what they’ll do to us on the basketball court….and you all are looking forward to that?

  12. tuckerdorm1983 10/31/2011 at 6:54 PM #

when we play unc in basketball I plan on having my memory erased and replaced with us beating them by 40 pts each time.

    See the movie “Total Recall”

I will withold my judgement or criticisms of Gott and the basketball team, until they give me reason to feel otherwise. Sounds like some of you aren’t even giving them a chance. Go Gott! Prove em wrong, then see what they have to say.

Uh, I’m not sure where some of these comments are coming from, but NCSU has plenty of talent, and WILL create problems for all – including UNC.
Rest assured if the team gels under Gottfried we will do plenty of damage…

“Our 2011 football season ended Thursday night, September 22 in Cincinnati, Ohio.”

I think it ended with the Wake game…

Basketball season will be pretty much the same as football season, with a lower chance to beat the Holes and less NFL to keep me distracted from our ass sucking.

Give the new staff a chance to build the program their own way before starting with the irrational hallucinations.

So, talent and potential is now all it takes, huh? Well, that’s some good freaking news.

Sure, we have enough talent to do some damage. But that’s been true many, many times over the recent past, gang. I hope like hell that Gott is the guy to bring some cohesion and direction to that talent and potential, but as of yet he is an unproven commodity as far as I’m concerned. I won’t say that I don’t like what I see so far, but that has been true many times with many previous NCSU coaches at this same point. Personally, I’ll reserve judgement until I see that talent and potential translate into some meaningful success on the floor.

    Fool me once….

Basketball…. hope that is eternal.I to have heard very good things about this staff and think we will be better….but that isn’t very hard after the last coaching staff…..I say…JUST WIN BABY!!!

  19. john of sparta 10/31/2011 at 10:01 PM #

+1 BJD, less NFL and even less NBA.

  20. VaWolf82 10/31/2011 at 10:56 PM #

before starting with the irrational hallucinations.

    When did they stop?
    😉

There’s always “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” or “Inception” too…

I am always ready for bball. Received tickets on Friday. Ready for Nov. 11. Go Pack!

  23. PackAche 11/01/2011 at 8:27 AM #

It may be that i haven’t come down from the sugar-induced hallucinations, but i am hoping the quality of our assistants is what makes this team different than what we have seen in the past.

  24. PackMan97 11/01/2011 at 8:36 AM #

NC State will be in the NCAA’s this year! We will make a lot of noise. It’s a lot easier to turn things around in basketball than football. This team has talent all it needed was direction and coaching. The changes in our players this year will really be impressive. I think we’ll be this years Red Storm.

  25. WolfBlood 11/01/2011 at 9:00 AM #

Coach Gott and Lutz will have this team looking completely different than last years team. Last year they looked lost and confused, which is exactly what they were because Lowe couldn’t coach his way out of a wet paper bag. Lutz is a HUGE addition to our basketball program. I’m not expecting a NCAA bid, but significant improvement with a chance at a NCAA bid. Then after 2012 the sky is the limit with the recruiting class Gott is bringing in.
