Open College Football Entry – State 28-10 to start 4th Qtr

We wanted to open a college football discussion entry for everyone sitting around today on a cold and rainy Saturday.

It is currently 3:54 and…

…Clemson defeated the defending National Champion from the SEC by 14.

…Georgia Tech defeated a team from the Big 12 by 50.

…Maryland fell short in a comeback bid against West Virginia.

…Butch Davis is attending his second consecutive UNC football game as a spectator…and, UNC is not unhappy about it because if he wasn’t there Kenan Stadium might not have any fans.

…DUKE WINS!!! at Boston College. Wow…I could not love this more! Congrats to Cutcliffe. Couldn’t love it more for BC.

Yep. Just a bad, bad football team.

We don’t even hit anyone til they are 4 yards downfield

  7. Tuffy2 09/17/2011 at 7:40 PM #

We better be looking for another coach as of midnight tonight.

  8. coach13 09/17/2011 at 7:41 PM #

TOB cannot recruit the talent we need to compete. Next coach. To everyone who hates the stars in recruiting, guess what. We don’t get’em and this is what u get. We r not talented enough to compete at a high level, or even a mid level.

  9. Wulfpack 09/17/2011 at 7:42 PM #

I’ll echo another poster – if we lose to BC this year, I’m done with the TOB era.

  10. coach13 09/17/2011 at 7:42 PM #

I posted earlier in the week. Debbie Yow should fire TOB on the field directly following the end of game if we lose.

  11. Ashman87 09/17/2011 at 7:44 PM #

I know they just missed the FG, but still, we’re very sloppy. We need to do a better job on INITIAL tackling and not turning the ball over.

  12. coach13 09/17/2011 at 7:44 PM #

I just don’t see how we are going to compete with anyone left on the schedule after tonight.

  13. BJD95 09/17/2011 at 7:48 PM #

It doesn’t matter whether or not we fire TOB. I don’t see much of a future for NC State football.

  14. coach13 09/17/2011 at 7:49 PM #

Agree BJD95. I mean, you watch other programs able to build something and we are constantly striking out. I guess there is just no attraction about this school.

We will have a D 1aa like showing against every other opponent we face this year… Enjoy this win folks, this will unfortunately be the last one for a while.

  16. TLeo 09/17/2011 at 7:51 PM #

The D really sucks and the O line isn’t hitting on much either when they have this much trouble with S Alabama. Archer should be gone tonight since it’s obvious he can’t produce an effective defense. I do not understand why TOB sticks by him. Glennon is a decent QB but he is going to get killed when conference play starts if the O-line doesn’t get it’s act together. It’s time Yow put a lot of heat under the entire coaching staff….produce or be gone.

  17. BJD95 09/17/2011 at 7:53 PM #

CJ Underwood looks a lot better than anyone else on our team. And he was going to play D-II ball before Moose got hurt.

That doesn’t speak well for the rest of the roster.

  18. packbackr04 09/17/2011 at 7:53 PM #

underwood shows again he is the best back… dont worry. im sure washington will get the rest of the carries

  19. redcanine 09/17/2011 at 7:55 PM #

FSU cheerleaders are beautiful! No wonder they have such good players.

  20. packbackr04 09/17/2011 at 7:58 PM #

thats about the 73rd blown coverage so far this year

  21. john of sparta 09/17/2011 at 7:59 PM #

redc…if FSU cheerleaders are a 10, what are ours?

  22. the reality 09/17/2011 at 7:59 PM #

No future, what do you guys mean by that?

I mean, I don’t expect a consistent national championship contender, but there is no reason at all why NC State shouldn’t be able to at least garner a reasonable amount of respect in ACC circles… as a bare minimum.

  23. BJD95 09/17/2011 at 8:02 PM #

We hired a proven, quality head coach – and he can’t get talent as good as he landed at Boston College. That’s been the case for like 20-25 years, except for the Amato “island of misfit toys” era. Frankly, I give up at this point.

  24. packbackr04 09/17/2011 at 8:02 PM #

this is a slow slow football team reality. it takes years of good recruiting to build team speed back. so even if we drop TOB at the end of the year (we can only hope)…. it will take 2-3 recruiting cycles for a good coach to build the team back to a contender. thats why UNC is so scary. they are stacked with talent, Butch was just a crappy coach. if they get a real coach there. they can win the ACC next yr/

  25. redcanine 09/17/2011 at 8:02 PM #

Ours are gorgeous too… Maybe they should play a football game so people will notice
