Records stolen from UNC Honor Court building — UNC declines comment on any connection between break-in and McAdoo case

There is nothing to say other than “wow.”  Here is the full N & O story.

At 8 a.m. Monday, UNC-CH officials discovered that the student judicial system office in Student and Academic Services Building North had been broken into and 31 students’ confidential records stolen, according to a news release.

The student judicial system office contains the Honor Court, which came up at last week’s UNC-CH board of trustee’s meeting. The Honor Court disciplined Michael McAdoo, a football player, for receiving impermissible help on a paper from a tutor last year, but failed to catch plagiarism.

UNC-CH declined to comment on any connection between McAdoo’s case and the break-in.

The Holes have gone as crazy as an outhouse mouse!! I wonder if any of those 31 files belonged to one of Roy’s boys? Holy Dishonor Court Batman! What are they trying to hide?

This is the kind of crap that happens in bad television, and yet another distraction for the University of Big Time Football a few days before fall camp. You have to wonder if this will affect their date with the NCAA in October.

Local Campus Police officer, Deputy Barney Fife, was quoted as saying, “Don’t worry will nip it nip it nip it in the bud, or my name’s not Barney Fife!”

Really curious as to the identities of the 31 ‘students’ involved; any one not a revenue-sport athlete? I am sure that due to ‘FERPA concerns’ that we will never know…

Did they get the signout sheet?

Of course the records are kept on paper. The assignments in question were colored in crayon. They don’t scan well.

That was a little harsh, Rochester. You don’t give any credit for their mastery of macaroni glued to the construction paper

Names of who’s records yet? TBD?

This is the one thing FERPA actually covers. We’ll never know.

You can bet your sweet arse that basketball players were on the list.

One would expect that these victimology dgrees unc has been handing out since the late 80’s are about to get audited and there will be massive exposure of the “carolina way”.

I must say I am pleased. More pleased than the night a number of guys from my fraternity got into the law school and threw away hundreds of files from L1 and L2 students.
