Wiley’s attorney speaks

Joseph B. Cheshire V, the Raleigh lawyer representing the tutor in the middle of the academic misconduct allegations, was unhappy with the decision.

“It’s a sad day for the university that they would cave in to obviously orchestrated efforts to destroy their football program,” said Cheshire, a UNC-CH alumnus, a Tar Heel fan and an attorney with inside knowledge about the NCAA investigation. “It makes absolutely no sense that this happened now. There’s no additional information that justifies this firing of Butch Davis now, and if there is something, they ought to say what it is. This makes no legal sense, this makes no common sense, this makes no institutional sense and no sense for the athletic program or the players in that program.”

Poor butch, just a pawn in a greater conspiracy. Good luck getting some positive media coverage on the new stadium expansion this fall! What a bunch of d**ks!

You have to be kidding me. Now everyone wants to speak up in favor of Ol Butchie. Where have they been the past year?

This is telling me that the best is yet to come. Before is he bitter divorce easilyavoidable if two reasonable adults just walk away from a shitty relationship. if Butch, wiley, lawyers et al want to fight over semantics of what is collectively a royal f!?, up, then let them have at it. If I were Roy I’d be worried sick that folks aren’t just “walking away.”.

my son is two. He goes to daycare. They teach him to “walk away” when situations flair. Are there no adults left in CH who understand what my kid is learning in preschool?

Boys I’ll be in Highlands Friday night at a social function that will be filled with unc’ers. It shall be most fun!!!

I’m just so happy about all of this I do not know what to do: will it be boiled peanuts and Old Milwaukee every night of the week or shall I bow to the east and send what praises are needed for these grand gifts bestowed upon us?

Either way this entire thing is going to get nasty. I just wished I was back in my fair state to pound away at the faceless, nameless mass of unc fans.

Please do ol’ McCallum a favor my friends. See……….I’m down here in Georgia and nobody does anything but mumble about “‘EM DAWGS” so please pass along my well wishes to what unc fans you might encounter.

Encourage them to practice safe sex, tell them to go “F&*K themselves”.

    Many thanks.

From the drought-stricken state of Texas, I, too, echo McCallum’s request.

why is Wiley’s attorney defending Butch Davis? Is he really saying something like “we had a pact dammit, why couldn’t they just stick to the plan!”

  9. highstick 07/27/2011 at 10:48 PM #

why is Wiley’s attorney defending Butch Davis?

Makes you wonder who’s signing the checks that he has been depositing.

  11. choppack1 07/27/2011 at 10:52 PM #

Hmm…that is an odd thing for the attorney representing someone he could potentially have a case against to say.

  12. SuperStuff 07/27/2011 at 10:58 PM #

Chesire wants to defend Butch now??? Dude your client was still helping players after your beloved University let her go. Get a clue buddy!

  13. packhammer 07/27/2011 at 10:59 PM #

Caved in to an orchestrated effort to destroy their football program? That is bizarre. Hello Joe can you hear me? Your people blew themselves up. Nothing about this has been orchestrated and that is what you are mad about. All the efforts out of Chapel Hill to orchestrate your way out of this mess failed miserably. Maybe you all should have come clean from the start. And we still don’t have the truth.

It will be fun to watch how this impacts the Taj Ma Butch endzone project’s funding.

” My family and I have been able to endure this difficult period in our lives for several reasons: First and foremost, as a family we have known all along that I personally did nothing wrong. That is the truth.”

Damn, that sonofabitch just plagerized TheCOWDOG.

Beautiful! The tarholes are now cannibalizing themselves: football fan vs bball fans, academic types vs athletic supporters, young vs old, grads vs bandwagon fans. Fantastic. What a bunch of idiots. I am going to be childish and petty for just a couple of minutes more. If the NC2A comes close to doing its job, the tarhole fball program will be spinning in circles for years. Sure the penalties will affect them but not as severely as the self-destructive bickering inside the university. What a beautiful day. Hard to believe as artfully as they spun this story for months that it would ultimately look like they maximally f-ed it up. True to form, they were too smug and “smart” to see what needed to be done. They deserve everything that is coming their way and more. Burn baby Burn.

Well this guy clearly has the interests of his current client at the top of his priority list.

  18. pmoediddy 07/28/2011 at 12:06 AM #

Why is he wearing that get up. He reminds of the doofus in animal house on the white horse. Goodbye bitch, karma’s a Butch!

  19. packhammer 07/28/2011 at 12:19 AM #

Dear Joe, 82 and 76 have it nailed. How could this statement be in Ms. Wiley’s best interests? Oh wait a minute you don’t consider her to be the client. Somebody else is paying her fees. And who would that be or is this pro bono? Another question that may never be answered.

    Sincerely yours, The Redneck Orchestra

Joseph B Cheshire V was probably given his degree just for being named Joseph B Cheshire V. Talk about fulfilling a stereotype.

  21. baxter 07/28/2011 at 8:31 AM #

McCallum, you talking about the Highlands over here in Atlanta?

  22. highstick 07/28/2011 at 9:44 AM #

Gentlemen, we have just observed “how worthless a degree from Carolina really is”! They didn’t learn anything in school and have learned nothing in life! Hizigazumba, roll on yee Tarhole warriors!

  23. McCallum 07/28/2011 at 4:49 PM #

    Not THE Highlands.

    Not Highlands in Atlanta.

    Highlands, NORTH CAROLINA. Macon County.

The place where worn and tired yankees retire to in the summer months so that they might be able to bask their testicles in the shuddering light of the mild summer sun.

Where refuges from yellow fever flee to gaze out upon the mnts.

I’ll be there and there will be plenty of unc’ers (I’ll try to keep my testicles covered) about to cajole.

WORD to nitewolf. I know who you be!!!

    McCallum

Near Cashiers, where the locals don’t pronounce it Cashiers..it’s Cash-ers. Hope you escape the heat up there. Make sure you cool it down on Lake Lanier for me in a couple of weeks.
