John Blake’s telephone records for the world to see

Who was John Blake calling all of the time?

You can see for yourself in this link to 400 pages of John Blake’s telephone records.

Have fun.

Of course, it sure would be nice to see the actual text messages. Why wouldn’t UNC want to release the actual text messages of their former Associate Head Football Coach and Recruiting Co-ordinator?

I’m sure a lot will come out of this as time evolves.

[tOSU’s BOT] will spend up to six weeks reviewing the athletic department’s entire response to the scandal, though members say they do not know of any other NCAA rules violations right now.

Trustee Robert Schottenstein said on Friday that Ohio State’s athletic compliance program is good but there might be room for improvement.

The program, with eight compliance officers, has added two positions since the scandal broke last December, but those positions were being discussed before the news of the memorabilia sales broke.

What I’d like to know is, does the NCAA have this? (I’m sure they do), and does the NCAA have the actual text messages? Not sure about that. But I think they should have them, and so should the general public.

No doubt 919 numbers will be traced to Davis’ office numbers and UNC didn’t release any of his calls. Plus wonder if calls and texts will be found outside recruting time frames. This is the beginning of the end for Davis. UNC can’t keep hiding the info, sooner or later the evidence will be found that Davis like Tressel knew and covered it up.

You have to have a court order to get the actual Txt message. Getting the to and from numbers is easy for the owner of the phone. Even the owner of the phone has to have a court order.

According to North Carolina General Statutes 121 and 132, every document, paper, letter, map, book, photograph, film, sound recording, magnetic or other tape, electronic data processing record, artifact, or other documentary material, regardless of physical form or characteristic, made or received in connection with the transaction of public business by any state, county, municipal agency, or other political subdivision of government is considered a public record and may not be disposed of, erased, or destroyed without specific guidance from the Department of Cultural Resources. The Department of Cultural Resources recognizes that many records exist that may have very short-term value to the creating agency. These guidelines, along with an approved program records retention and disposition schedule and the General Schedule for State Agency Records, are intended to authorize the expeditious disposal of records possessing only brief administrative, fiscal, legal, research, or reference value, in order to enhance the efficient management of public records.

Question: If Butch was smart enough to use his personal phone for calls that could get him in trouble, why wasn’t Blake?

  7. ncstate05 06/24/2011 at 3:50 PM #

IF Butch was smart he would have had a burner with 200 SIM cards (purchased with cash by the tutor) AND he would have used a new one every week.

Using a personal phone shows that Butch thought he was smart enough.
Using the UNC-ch phone shows Blake didn’t care and UNC-ch didn’t monitor.

One work phone call makes it a company phone.

If I earned over $5,000 per day, every day of the year, and wanted to keep information private, I would buy a new cell phone EVERY DAY, and cancel the phone service at 11:59pm that night.

If Butch did not do that, it shows just how dumb he is.

  9. MrPlywood 06/24/2011 at 4:20 PM #

Wow – $5,000 per day. Actually it’s $5479/day. Sounds unreal when you put it that way, but that’s what Butch “I Didn’t Know” Davis makes.

  10. LRM 06/24/2011 at 5:11 PM #

This doesn’t prove either of them were dumb. Just arrogant.

Id like to see Butch’s Tax Return.. I bet the greedy cheating SOB expensed his personal cell phone! If he did does that make it open game?? If not maybe the IRS needs to join in.

Damn, Santa was in my network, I could’ve called him for free. Missed opportunities….lol

    Whoa! Time out!

Maybe I’m not reading this correctly, but the file only covers the following dates (searched the PDF file using the word “monthly”):

    12/23/2008-1/22/2009
    1/23/2009-2/22/2009
    2/23/2009-3/22/2009

Only three months? Why?? What phone, or phones, was Blake using the remainder of the time he was employed by UNC?

FYI: The phone number listed in a previous thread, 216-410-5183, popped up a total of 26 times in the three months noted above. I doubt seriously they were just social calls. Looks like Butch is going to have to cough up the records for his 216 phone pretty soon.

  14. Tampa-Pack 06/24/2011 at 7:08 PM #

Some enterprising young person should just start calling each number to see who they are. Could get very interesting with respect to recruiting periods, boosters, etc.

This, of course, is the diversion their flim-flam diversion experts want.

    Butch made no phone calls.
    Yeah.

ncstate05, you need to check the federal statutes. This falls outside of nc jurisdication.
