NC State gets new S&C lead

Discussed by clicking here.

From 1984-93, Alejo served as strength and conditioning coach at UCLA, where he worked with 23 men’s and women’s teams, including the men’s basketball squad, which won the 1995 NCAA Championship. During his tenure in Westwood, the Bruins racked up 25 national championships and produced more than 100 All-Americans.

Another big step in streamlining and professionalizing our Athletics Department while trying to move it out of the dark ages.

We badly need this. Need to prevent as many injuries as possible. That starts with good conditioning.

The article mentions how he helped UCLA win the 1995 championship. But he was gone by 1993. I understand he probably laid the foundation of the program. But he was not actually there that year. Just saying… I also agree that maybe the injury bug will start to dissipate with a good conditioning program. V had his team do aerobics (I remember the pics in the technician of Cozell…)
