    Awful design, awful execution, and a generally miserable classroom experience. Good riddance.

    According to my gf’s gay roommate, Harrelson IS the homosexual hookup spot on campus.

    But, I’m amazed that anyone considers this place a hallowed school icon anymore than the old press box or fieldhouse at Carter-Finley were. They are equally functional (poorly so) and peculiar looking (ugly, dated). Who was crying about those other facilities getting torn down?

    This is a non-story to me.

    I’d like to toast to the Real Men Of Genius who designed the restrooms in that place.

    “Harrelson IS the homosexual hookup spot on campus.” Actually, it was a cruising ground close to Hillsborough Street and the edge of campus where old pervs from off campus came who wanted to give blow jobs to desperately undersexed undergrads. I’m guessing modern, completely out gay kids on State’s campus these days wouldn’t go near the place, given the extent of gay bars, online social sites, etc.

    I bet more than a few of the folks who post on here who would otherwise identify themselves as straight might have visited the Harrelson restrooms a time or two during their undergrad days. Never underestimate the extent of “GWI” (gay when intoxicated) among college kids, particularly horned up college kids on a campus that is nearly 60% male…
