* I’ve gotten to the point that I get frustrated when I see Javi on the floor in a starting role. I recognize this is Ryan Harrow’s first road ACC game…but I can’t help it.

* CJ Leslie sure does love to shoot. I wonder if it would be best to limit him to shoot only when he gets an offensive rebound.

* We don’t seem to be boxing out on the defensive boards. Same old, same old. Even a friggin missed free throw leads to a free three pointer for BC.

* Boston College 10 NC State 4

* This is par for the course for our performance when Javi is in the game compared to Harrow. Don’t know how many mathematical analysis need to be run to prove the point.

9:18pm
* Boston College 12 NC State 9

* Pack settling in a little getting the ball to Tracy Smith in the post. Misses BOTH free throws. MUST convert the ‘little things’ on the road tonight.

* Harrow gets in with 14:30 to go in the half with BC leading 12-9

9:30
* Looking like complete crap. Can’t throw the ball in the ocean from the pier.

* Trailing 24-13 with 7:16 in the first half.

9:45pm: BOSTON COLLEGE 28 NC STATE 26 (HALFTIME)
* Fast first half because the refs didn’t blow many whistles.

* Wolfpack heated up in last 7 minutes as Tracy Smith hit four in a row after missing his first four shots.

Thank God we have Ryan Harrow!!! So he can sit on the bench and watch Javi’s presence dig us as deep of a hole on the court as possible!

gotta get CJL out of there. He cannot guard Raji.

  2. tvp1 01/11/2011 at 10:58 PM #

SFN: Harrow has a tendency to leave guys wide open on D. Did it a couple of times in the first half.

  3. tvp1 01/11/2011 at 11:07 PM #

Good coaching there from Lowe: Told Howell to play off Southern, led directly to a steal.

  4. LRM 01/11/2011 at 11:10 PM #

Harrow also has a tendancy to score, whereas Javi…doesn’t.

  5. seanb724 01/11/2011 at 11:11 PM #

You think I’m kidding.. We get down 5 while I’m watching the game on TV, I go sit in front of my computer, and 5 minutes later I see tweets that Harrow scored 8 straight.

If Lowe wants to get away with piss poor d, and terrible preparation, then he needs players like Reggie Jackson.

  7. eas 01/11/2011 at 11:21 PM #

Still don’t understand the lovefest that Lowe has with Javi. CJL needs some defensive work but he is a beast on the boards.

The chemistry between Harrow, Wood, Brown, CJL, Smith is by far the best combo.

    Nice shot Javi…..
    Horrible

I’ll take one for the team and not watch the rest of the game…

  9. lush 01/11/2011 at 11:23 PM #

    2:14 left . Game over.

  10. kbrown 01/11/2011 at 11:24 PM #

Thanks Javi!! We play well enough to finally get a lead and then you come in there and jack up a three from half court because you are too stupid to remember the shot clock is running out and then get beat on defense by your guy to hit a three. Probably just cost us the game. I could very easily blame coaching on him being in there in the first place. UNBELIEVABLE!!

BTW, I really don’t understand Lowe.

If anyone can make an argument for why Sidney is our coach after this year I’d love to hear it.

We are clearly more talented than BC (Jackson excluded) and yet we look about the same as the 06 team.

It is however a remarkable achievement that you can spend 5 years coaching different players and end up with the same results.

Soooooo, we’ve got that going for us

  13. eas 01/11/2011 at 11:31 PM #

NObody understands Lowe or his line up combos. We are literally a team who could be great with fundamentals, organization and NO whistling from Lowe.

Another winnable game where they didn’t give themselves a chance due to self destruction in four straight possessions at the end. What a shame.

    1. how do you come out of a time-out and not know that you only have 15 seconds on the time clock?
    2. then leave guards wide-open for 3-balls on two straight possessions.
    3. sandwiched between an unforced error in a sloppy pass/turnover.

A typical sequence that we’ve come to know as Wolfpack basketball.

  15. LRM 01/11/2011 at 11:34 PM #

For those of you curious, it was tied at 60 when Javi came in with around three minutes to play, and we lost 75-66. Coincidence?

  16. mak4dpak 01/11/2011 at 11:37 PM #

Great job Sid, the losing streak begins, another great coaching job. We collaspe at the end of the game. I knew it was gonna happen, just didn’t know when. FSU on the road, next, then Duke. Let the excuses beginnnnnnnn!!!

  17. tvp1 01/11/2011 at 11:37 PM #

^Dunno, was it “coincidence” that Harrow lost his man again and gave up a wide open 3 the play before Javi came in?

  18. yankeewolf 01/11/2011 at 11:39 PM #

Can ANYONE tell me why Javi is EVER on the floor?? This team is CLEARLY better with Harrow in there, even though he’s a freshman. I do NOT understand why Javi EVER plays…much less starts? Has Lowe EVER been brought to task on this? I’m sorry, I know he’s a senior, but Javi is just not good. We had this game in our hands but managed to steal defeat from the jaws of victory…all because Javi got out on the floor.

  19. eas 01/11/2011 at 11:41 PM #

Harrow needs to do better on D but I will give them 3 when Harrow just put up 8 straight points. A Netted 5 points is better than 0 with Javi.

  20. Wulfpack 01/11/2011 at 11:42 PM #

The game was lost when Javi came in for Harrow after Harrow had rattled off 8 straight. Javi jacked up some junk as he wasn’t paying any attention out of a timeout. Terrible.

  21. Whiteshoes67 01/11/2011 at 11:44 PM #

Everybody knew BC was a jump shooting team going in. Not like they run a lot of complicated sets. Yet how many times did you see BC players getting wide open looks? Nobody even close to Raji and the ACC’s leading scorer, Jackson, on about half of their field goals. No help defense. I repeat, this team looks poorly conditioned, poorly motivated, undisciplined, and lacking in bball IQ, heart, and toughness. That BC team is mediocre in a mediocre league. Outcoached…again. Outplayed…again

  22. lush 01/11/2011 at 11:45 PM #

It’s not Javi’s fault he was put in the game. That is the coaches fault.

Also the coaches fault is waiting to start the game until minute 12.

Also the coaches fault is the horrible defense.

Also the coaches fault is the absurd substitution “pattern”

I would love for our coach to be Sid, but he is just not right for this job.

  23. Wolfy__79 01/11/2011 at 11:45 PM #

it’s very early in conference play but that was terrible.

  24. W.I.T.H.14 01/11/2011 at 11:45 PM #

Putting Javi in after what Harrow was doing may just be the sorriest coaching decision I have ever seen..

  25. 61Packer 01/11/2011 at 11:45 PM #

The “Gonzalez play” late in the game when we came out of a timeout and forgot about the shot clock is pretty much the story of the Low Era.

How many minutes did Williams or Painter play?

All in all, another quality road loss in the ACC. On to Tallahassee.
