Good conversation and analysis happening here comparing the media’s preseason football selections to the final results.
I conclude the following from a quick glance:
(1) How well of a job Ralph Friedgen did coaching Maryland this year. Did you know that record-setting WR Torey Smith was a 2-star/3-star-ish recruit out of high school and freshman quarterback Danny O’Brien (from the state of North Carolina) was similarly rated?
(2) Why Dabo Swinney’s chair is warming. I expect we will be hearing soon that Dabo will be throwing some assistants under the bus ala Mack Brown did to his old buddy this week.
(3) Bewilderment at Mami’s firing of Randy Shannon in only 3 years.
(4) Curiosity as to why so many people praised Butch Davis for finishing right where he was projected. (Note: predictions/votes were cast after some suspensions and when it was obvious they were going to have a tumultuous year).
