WVU Defensive Back Brandon Hogan Suffered Torn ACL
Head athletic trainer Dave Kerns said Hogan suffered a Torn ACL and is getting treatment frequently. He is not practicing as a result of that injury and his status for the bowl game is unknown.
Hogan has 17 days to try and heal in enough time to play against NC State in the Champs Sports Bowl.
Hogan has recorded 37 tackles, one fumble recovery and six pass breakups in his senior season.
Weak schedule may be masking (Arizona) problems
This season, in large part because of factors beyond Miller’s control, the Wildcats have played a schedule rated No. 233 so far. So while they still appear on track for an NCAA tournament berth at 8-2, their schedule has made it difficult to tell what kind of team, exactly, they are.
Graham dominates at National Hoops Festival
The event featured 14 teams from the greater Washington, D.C. area and a little beyond, but it was Raleigh (N.C.) Word of God’s star junior Torian Graham who stole the show with a scintillating 34-point outburst. Torian Graham, SG, Word of God- A super-athletic off guard, Graham exploded out of the gate with 15 points in the first two-and-half minutes and never looked back. Long and lean, he’s got legitimate range to at least 22 feet, drives to the rim for huge dunks and loves to finish with floaters and short jumpers when driving lanes get cut off. He’s prone to taking some plays off and is a bit right hand dominant, but the four-star wing has huge upside and hasn’t even begun to mature much physically. He listed N.C. State, West Virginia, Xavier, Louisville, Clemson, Miami, Boston College, Villanova, Marquette, Indiana and Rutgers and indicated that he’s in no hurry to cut down on his list.
Time to step up, Terrapin Nation
But the reality is, as a fan base, we did not support our football team as we should have. This season, we carried a sub-par 72.5% attendance rate at Byrd. For comparisons sake, N.C. State blew us away, averaging a whopping 98.7% attendance rate. I’m sorry, but that’s pitiful. As a bowl official trying to make money, while still putting a quality product on the field, which team would you have selected? As much as it pains me, it’s tough to say the Terps without being biased.
It’s time to put up or shut up Terp fans. I’m not blaming you for being upset, but our fanhood is being questioned people. Every bowl committee associated with an ACC team is calling us out. NC State head coach Tom O’Brien says the reason that N.C. State passed us by was because they “have fans.†The East Carolina fan base is gloating about how RFK is going to be filled with purple. Even Maryland head coach Ralph Friedgen and athletic director Kevin Anderson are, essentially begging us to show up.
