Game Ball, Kevin Reddick (and Owen Spencer)

Thank the Lord Mr. Reddick decided to wake up the sleepwalking Pack. Because once awoken, NC State played its best football all year. And we will play for the Atlantic Division title next week in College Park.

And what awareness by Owen Spencer to catch a tipped knuckler in the end zone. Without that, not sure the righteous anger would have been enough to get us over the hump. Remember when we used to call him “butterfingers?”

Quinton Coples, in my view, should have been ejected 4 plays before the fight. He hit Wilson at least 4-5 strides out of bounds. Coples took two steps on the chalk before launching. And you will NEVER convince me that he wasn’t coached to do that. Dirty sons of bitches!

And thank you for showing much better situational awareness this week, Coach O’Brien. Screw the book.

Notice Jarvis Williams with the broom!

Everyone can say we didn’t play well. Fine and you are right to some degree. Some would say we were lucky. Thats fine to. All I know is we came out to play in the second half and took the game from our rivals. Thats right, our rivals! We won a game when it mattered to get to the final game to play for a TITLE! That is all I care about. Just enjoy and don’t over think it

    what happened w/ coples?

  3. BJD95 11/20/2010 at 7:34 PM #

Extremely late hit on RW after 3rd and 19 run. Wilson had taken at least 4-5 steps out of bounds, Coples 2-3.

    Institutional sanctions by the NCAA.

That is the elephant in the room. Many UNC fans tell me there is no elephant, much less a mouse. Us UNX haters say the elephant is the room and it is so fricking big it is coming out the windows and doors and about to the bring the house down. If I have to predict I expect them to come down hard on them. They have to send a message to all the other schools. When the storm comes and it may not be resolved until spring or summer Butch will leave.

I am going to be a contrarian and give the game ball to RW. What was it? 3rd and 19, and we had just been sacked. When UNC really needed something from TJ, he fell apart. RW stepped up and refused to lose. He put us in a position to win that game. He also didn’t make any bad decisions down the stretch. Sometimes we take that for granted.

  6. choppack1 11/20/2010 at 8:06 PM #

agree w/ game ball to RW. He had one INT – but his 3rd down play was huge.

So many feelings about this one (all good):

    – I swore in 2004, after the TA ripoff and spending two freaking hours in an ungodly parking deck at UNC-CHeat trying to get out of there that I would never attend another game at Chapel Hell. I may still not go, but I do think today that karma came around and we got some vindication after Owen’s miracle catch in the end zone. Of course, Owen’s catch was legit and that TA debacle was so dishonest that it doesn’t really compare, but it is what it is…

    – This probably goes without saying, but justice was truly done this afternoon, and that’s not just because of partisanship. Let’s hope the NCAA continues the trend.

    – I hope that this team can go full steam ahead into next week’s game, with what we have on the line. Maryland more than once has destroyed our postseason dreams. Make no mistake, Friedgen gets a hard-on for NC State. He hates us for personal reasons as well as professional and will make sure that his team is ready to play. We’ve paid back some Horses*** today; let’s pay it ALL back next week.

    – For the first time in a long, long time…these are good days to be a State fan.

Yea, RW came up freaking huge when it mattered most. If he throws that one away, or it falls incomplete, I doubt the comeback happens. He kept us in it, then delivered the blow when we needed it most. He’s just an awesome player. Awesome.

I was at the game and let me say…they were the quietest fans ever. Have they ever put the “wolf” “Pack” chant on the screen?? They had to do that just so they would freaking cheer. Had one asshole behind us but besides that i didnt see too many terrible fans. The parking garage tailgating was horrendous, it wasn’t fun at all. But hearing that sweet silence after the safety was better that i could have imagined.
    Go Pack!!

King Street Bar and Grill was literally packed with State fans in Charleston today along with Sidney, Monte, and Levi. I have never seen such a great atmosphere in a bar for a game, it was spectacular. Great game that had so many twists and turns but we came out on top. Good beat Evil today.

Man, this day just keeps getting better. I just saw on the ticker that Notre Dame beat the Holes’ women’s soccer team in the NCAA tournament. See y’all in Charlotte after we have some Turtle soup for Thanksgiving.

Locke was so happy, he made Butch cry!

  13. Scooter 11/20/2010 at 8:53 PM #

Now we need to beat the Turds. If there is a team whose fans and coach I despise more than UNC, it would be Maryland. Hopefully FSU knocks out their QB, runningbacks, and all of their linebacking corp… hate them almost as much as UNC…

Bring on the Fail posters. I can’t wait to see them.

I’m hoping someone has the time/skill to put together a UNC Thug video, that clearly showcases all of the intentional late hits, punches, kicks to the head, taunting and other such thuggery that UNX is known for.

They’ve given us enough ammo, we should mash that all together with some photos of UNX players at Miami agent parties with huge shades and fat diamonds… It all sounds so awesome in my head, if only I could get it out in a video… haha.

“These seniors,” North Carolina coach Butch Davis said, “they have made football relevant at North Carolina again.”

    Good Job D.

Beat up after being on the business end of seven sacks, North Carolina quarterback T.J. Yates needed an x-ray before meeting with the media after the Tar Heels’ 29-25 loss to N.C. State on Saturday.

Yates walked slowly off the elevator on the fifth floor of the Kenan Center with his left wrist wrapped in white tape.

    Spitting allegations? Really?

    Makhtar N’diaye anyone?

Of course Adam Gold has a huge hard-on for Deunta Williams so we will never hear the end of this. Anything to take away from winning fair and square.

“We didn’t actually lose! We beat ourselves and they were playing dirty. Even though we started all of the altercations that people can actually verify! Just like last year and the year before that, and the year before that, and …”

Let’s look at the track records of the teams under O’Brien in Raleigh and Chief in the Hole … there’s no comparison when it comes to character, integrity, all the positive intangibles. And we’re supposed to believe the thugs’ allegations?

Ha ha ha – tis a good night! Suck it, losers. Scoreboard – and being a cheating, lying, thug, entitled elitist sack of sh*t doesn’t pay off in the long run.

There was a WHOLE lot of RED in Charleston tonight….and they had WHITE trim. State Fans out and about. Really good atmosphere. Talked to the Manager of Anson’s and he said he had quite a few Pack fans there all evening.

Can’t wait until tomorrow night to see the GW showdown. Sid should be glad that several folks were there last night. The smaller venue made yelling at the refs easier. I have NEVER seen a team of Zebra’s that could NOT blow their whistle when the Red/White team had the ball. The BB team really set the tone about midway during the second half.

As to the Ejection…..I watched it in HD and it looked like Reddick and Williams just got tangled up and hit the turf. I thought that they were planng on getting jobs, part-time of course, at RDU. They looked like each other had executed a “TSA Security Pat Down” and each felt violated.

What a victory. I think that we all ought to email Dickie and Holden and DEMAND a Lifetime Contract of BD….that would serve the Heels right….

  20. fmack 11/20/2010 at 11:42 PM #

Did you guys catch ol BD crying about intentional grounding after the game? Cryowina.
He’s crying like he had a pap smear done or something. LOL.
I hate powder puff blue. The sissiest color known to man.
A bunch of broke-back-mountain cry babies.
    GO PACK!!!!

Frankly, if any of our players WERE spitting at them it was quite likely done in the haste of a lost temper in response to cheap shots already in the books by their players and their own brand of thuggery. I believe they call it “The Carolina Way”.

And I don’t believe for a second any player on a TOB coached team would do that (spit on an opponent, that is)…they know if they were called out they’d sit the pine for a while and I can’t see them taking that chance.

Today they got another taste of “The Wolfpack Way”, that is a fourth straight year of bending over and getting spanked.

  22. russwuf 11/21/2010 at 2:27 AM #

i mean let’s face it Butchy is a terrible game day coach….i mean he can draw the recruits in ..and we see partially the reason why now with the cash, trips, bling..etc being handed out like candy…and of course having tudors do your classwork for you and such….but no matter….he continues to make poor sideline errors and all he can do to deflect/mask that is to whine for intentional groundings etc….pulleeze…
i was totally amazed that they did the sky kick thing on the second attempted onside kick…how stupid is that? >>>all we have to do is call for a fair catch..which we did…they have NO chance to recover it unless the faircatcher muffs it….dumb……dumb…
and did you notice….every big defensive play that UNC made was made by one of the former/investigated/suspended/sanctioned players?
several times the UNC thugs were taunting and chest bumping like come on do something crap…Paige Moss was a chief one especially on that Spencer deflection TD ensuing scuffle…I spose Butchy has brought some of that former Miami thuggery to the Hill eh? LOL
oh yes…and mr heisman all world legend in his own mind Yates….taking the Coupe de Grace safety in his endzone how fitting and end!

Great time in Cheater Hill; pre-gamed at a good little hole in the wall bar called the Blue Horn Lounge on Franklin St.-worth a stop if ya need a cold one;barkeep was cool-gave us Packers several ‘I support Butch’ bumper stickers; now, what to do with them?

  24. blpack 11/21/2010 at 9:27 AM #

Isn’t Reddick from Kinston? Too bad he will probably miss his last game in baby blue vs. his ‘rival’.
Let the complaining continue from CH and we will just keep on winning.

  25. BamaPack 11/21/2010 at 11:26 AM #

Coples and Reddick are a couple of losers. Nice cheap shots ladies.
