ECU Tailgating – Where to park? [Friday Afternoon Update]

Some of us consider ourselves “experts” or at least fairly knowledgeable on tailgating/travel ideas for various road trips. We had a blast at the last ECU game in Greenville during our tailgate three years ago even surrounded by ECU fans in the gravel lots along 14th Street. Shaded with lots of room to spread out, we highly recommend targeting these lots for all NC State fans going to this game to tailgate.

First of all, go to this map to see the areas we are recommending.

However, do consider the following points if you attempt to target the 14th Street lots:

1. Official lots open at 8 am for noon games.

2. 14th St. is shut down once these gravel lots are filled. According to a nice gentleman we contacted in the ECU athletic department, then this means 14th St will be closed by 9 am. If arriving later than 9 am, then don’t even attempt going to these lots.

3. Cost to park in this lot(or any official lot) is $20.

Lots of stuff on the blog this week, and the activity is going to continue. So, we highly encourage you to take the time to do some ‘surfing’ on the front page as opposed to only reading the entry or two at the very top of the blog. Of course, you can always click for our message boards here.

We received the following email we thought we would pass along.

Hi StateFansNation –

Inside Tailgating, which is a business founded by 3rd generation NC State alum, W. Stacey Moore, III, is going to be at the ECU game in Greenville on Saturday. We’d love to get an interview and capture the best Wolfpack fan tailgating moments. Please let me know if you’ve got some tailgating planned and if we can coordinate something or check us out on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/InsideTailgating) and Friend/Like us so you can view all our info and events.

Thanks,
Elizabeth Moore

If I may add, the full NCSU Marching Band will be in attendance at the game tomorrow and will be performing on the field at halftime.

In addition, 90 minutes before kickoff outside the stadium at the Gate 5 plaza, the “Call to Port” event is a type of pregame pep-rally featuring the ECU band. This week it will be a joint-concert with both our and their bands performing alternating songs in a “battle of the bands”-type situation. It’s open to everyone, so come out to support if you can!

I do know the Belk Building parking lot was General pay parking in 2007, but now it is ECU Pirate Club parking, but this is where we are parking for the Pack Rally, the parking passes we got are ECU Club parking passes..gotta love that. So just letting you know, the Belk parking lot is no longer pay parking, it is permit only parking…..

We went to the ECU game in Greenville three years ago. Traffic was not good, and we were lucky to find a place to park. We ended up paying someone to let us park in their driveway (they were “renting” parking spots to other people, too). Then we had to walk a country mile to the stadium.

This year, we decided to take that motorcoach from Raleigh to Greenville with other Wolfpack Clubbers. I figure, we don’t have to deal with the traffic or parking, and we’ll get delivered right to the stadium. Well worth the $59/person price.

I enjoyed the last game in Greenville, and if anyone don’t mind walking, I parked in the Kmart parking lot, and for free. Was going this year, but found out it was on television, and decided to stay home. Expecting a big win, and then a visit to Carter Finley, next Thursday, for another shot at looking good in the national spotlight, with a victory agianst FSU.

Sorry to be slightly off subject, but has anyone seen the injury report for the ECU game? If so, please put up a link.

I found this terrific article on the Internet. Does anyone have a 2016 “where to tailgate” update?
