Schad: Blake’s attorney says Blake would be “devastated” by Chief Davis saying he is “sorry” he “trusted” Blake

The multi-pronged scandal gets more and more interesting. The comment in the title of this entry from Blake’s attorney could be significant as Butch officially threw Blake under the bus earlier today. Will Blake now sing to the NCAA regarding Butch’s knowledge and/or involvement in any transgressions?

The “Twitter-verse” is a great place to keep up with a lot of this stuff in real-time. (Follow us here and make sure to joing our 1,300+ followers)

Read from the bottom up.

Lawyers said money from Wichard to Blake were not “payments”. They were “gifts and loans”.

Blake said breaking aspect of story last week made it hard to access exactly when wire transfer happened.

lawyers say they were not entirely clear on time frame of wire transfers from wichard to blake until this weekend.

Those last three transfers appeared to occur in the middle of typical school semesters.

Lawyers say final three transfers from Wichard to Blake were, according to Wichard, to pay the private school tuition of Blake’s son.

Laywers said they think Blake’s protect card was open for possibly eight months while he was at UNC, but aren’t sure exact time length.

Also, lawyers have affirmed that Pro Tect credit card was indeed open while Blake was at UNC. did not know how long it was open.

Lawyers have affirmed to me that, yes, all six wire transfers did indeed occur during Blake’s tenure at UNC. Said they had to review records

Private school tuition ??? Chapel Hill/Carrboro is the highest rated public school system in the state . Butch doesn’t even send his own son to private school.

do you suppose, do you hope that blake now will spill the beans on butch and tell all

At this moment, Blake’s focus is more on staying out of jail than sharing dirty secrets about Carolina’s Athletics program.

^ True, but depending upon what dirty secrets he has to share, spilling them might be his best way of staying out of jail if his lawyer is competent enough to to get him a decent deal.

But based on what we’ve seen of Blake’s lawyer I’d have to say at best the jury is still out on him (no pun intended).

“Blake said breaking aspect of story last week made it hard to access exactly when wire transfer happened.”

^And I forgot to mention this little gem. So, Blake wants us to believe that because the story broke so quickly, a) he didn’t have time? b) he was too confused? AND/OR c) he had to “access” the information somewhere/somehow?….in order to know when these payments were received?

And don’t forget, no one was asking for exact dates. This was a “before” or “after” you were coaching at UNC type of thing. Yet he wants us to believe that because the story broke so quickly that he just…didn’t remember?

And I agree with the sentiment that I couldn’t care less for what purpose the money was used once he got his hands on it. Not only is it immaterial, its insulting to think that he/they would think us stupid enough to be confused by such a pitiful ploy (ie, the money was used to send my son, who is innocent in all of this, to school to better himself with a good education, so therefore no wrongdoing was done).

I don’t care if he donated the money to post-Katrina relief, post-911 relief for victims’ orphaned children, and starving children of 3rd world nations worldwide. That might be a very selfless and wonderful way to use the money. Good for you.

But let’s get back to where/when/why and from whom did you recieve it, shall we?

I once caught several persons dead to right in an out and out lie over something involving a very large sum of money. Their reactions were priceless and were as follows:

    -turn red in the face
    -stammer (but, but, but, etc….)
-can’t sit still (ants in the pants)
-hold their throat like they are choking (ack!!)
-stand up, gasp and then run away

However, one of the liars in my little cadre of liars remained very cool and simply diverted all the blame to the others claiming he also had been misled by them. As it turned out he was the ring leader telling all the other liars that if they stood united then they have nothing to fear. All for one and one for all as it were. When I had the goods on them they turned on each other with shocking viciousness. (ITS JUST HUMAN NATURE)

1-Easy to check with the private school to compare the timing of payments.

2-Blake is more likely to lie to support Wichard than Butch. Wichard has as much to lose as Butch, probably more. Blake has little or no future coaching, he could realistically be an agent or part of that business.

3-Greg Little is the one the Holes want quiet, he could cook the Golden Goose. Marvin Austin is the face of this no doubt, but they won’t mind him singing on their football program near as much.

When the tip of the iceburg is this ugly, I can’t wait until low tide.

Chris R.: Mr. B, you said you discovered these payments just before Black Santa, I mean Mr. Blake resigned. Did you realize this made it look as if he was acting on behalf of an agent?

DB: Coach Butch has my full support.

Chris R.: Mr. B, that’s not germaine to the question.

DB: The damn germans got nothing to do with it.

Reminds me of a bad Law & Order episode. “I wasn’t there. And if I was there, I didn’t do it. And if I did do it, then it was self-defense.”

Here finally is where it gets really….Really…REALLY bad for Butch and UNC. Someone in the know has been thrown under the bus. Unless agreed upon behind welded closed steel doors by Blake (and this may be where the $74 K hush money comes into play), he is taking someone/everyone down with him. His past indicates he can be VERY ugly and play VERY dirty. Ask the Dallas Cowboys.

  13. coach13 10/05/2010 at 9:38 AM #

Here Blake. We are going to let you resign and give you $74K. In exchange, we are going to criticize you in a mostly hypothetical manner, like “if this is true” and “if we had known absolutely”. Agree? Yes, I agree. I will be your fall guy.

  14. StateFans 10/05/2010 at 11:22 AM #

    * It DOESN’T MATTER if the $$$ was used for private school. The use of the money DOESN’T MATTER in any manner.

    * Surely the termination agreement is subject to Freedom of Information Act. Why can’t we find out if Blake had a non-disparagement clause in return for his $74k? I’m willing to bet that UNC can say anything they want about Blake and he can’t say a thing without getting his pants sued off.
