GT Game / Potential Semi-Live Blog

We have company this morning, so I don’t know when I will post updates, or how often. Clearly, this is the biggest game of Tom O’Brien’s tenure. A win here could catapault NC State into legitimate contention for the Atlantic Division crown, along with Top 25 honors. A loss, and it’s TOB’s fourth consecutive 0-1 ACC start – and the wheels could come off quickly.

You want analysis? Our own Alpha Wolf has you covered with far better analysis than you will find anywhere in the paid media; GAWolf has set you up with a little NC State-talk in this entry; and our message boards have at least a dozen threads from this week discussing different aspects of today’s game.

You want the opinions of a simpleton like me? I’ve seen Georgia Tech play twice, and NC State play three times. NC State looked like a good football team (not great, but good). Georgia Tech looked like hot garbage smells. If we play our game, I fully expect a win today.

Gimme more Mustafa all day long. I like Haynes, but Mustafa hits the whole harder and stays more north/south.

Now i want some style points from Tom. Put 50 on their arse, Tom!

That’s awesome. We ought to be up by 27 right now instead of 17…but still awesome. As long as the D doesn’t give up any big pass plays we’re in good shape. GT can’t play their game anymore…they gotta open it up.

^I did, chuck! Awesome! I’m loving both O and D today. Save for a couple big plays from GT, we’ve been great! Let’s keep up the pressure and get another Turnover! I want our TO Margin to be #1!

    Beautiful stop.

  12. Wufpacker 09/25/2010 at 2:04 PM #

Nice Stop! I can’t believe Johnson called that 4 down territory. Big mistake IMHO.

Manning has become a stud backer…potentially best linebacker we’ve had in years

  14. Wufpacker 09/25/2010 at 2:06 PM #

Move those chains! Keep that clock ticking!

  15. NCSUPackfan 09/25/2010 at 2:06 PM #

  16. TheAliasTroll 09/25/2010 at 2:07 PM #

    I think we’re a good football team.

  17. drgreenhouse 09/25/2010 at 2:07 PM #

I just wish we could get the holding penalties reduced/

one more quarter, that 4th down stop on GT was huge. Now we need to score.

  19. Wufpacker 09/25/2010 at 2:09 PM #

^^ I agree, but I also think we’re getting “nickeled and dimed” by the officials on the line. But that pass interference call kinda made up for it I guess, LOL.

For everyone that wanted PJ instead of TOB, I’m reminded why I wasn’t onboard when I see a game with no completions through three quarters; and it’s reinforced when I see no pass on an important 4th-and-3.

It still amazes me that Wilson is considered less of a QB than Harris, Ponder or even last year’s 1st team All ACC Nesbitt.

what was that 3 or 4 holding calls on us so far?

  22. NCSUPackfan 09/25/2010 at 2:10 PM #

Two of the holding calls were on Mattes, he is still getting back into form. Hopefully Overgaard will return for next Saturday. Maybe Byrd is getting closer to coming back as well.

  23. Wufpacker 09/25/2010 at 2:10 PM #

Agreed tucker. I won’t say one more score (touchdown) wins it. But GT will have a big hill to climb if we go up 24.

  24. tjfoose1 09/25/2010 at 2:12 PM #

Lots of good things today. I don’t think Audie has racked up a lot of stats, but he is playing great. He’s made a lot of plays in which others logged the tackle. Think he’s saved two TD’s so far.

    We’re going conservative too soon.
