GT Game / Potential Semi-Live Blog

We have company this morning, so I don’t know when I will post updates, or how often. Clearly, this is the biggest game of Tom O’Brien’s tenure. A win here could catapault NC State into legitimate contention for the Atlantic Division crown, along with Top 25 honors. A loss, and it’s TOB’s fourth consecutive 0-1 ACC start – and the wheels could come off quickly.

You want analysis? Our own Alpha Wolf has you covered with far better analysis than you will find anywhere in the paid media; GAWolf has set you up with a little NC State-talk in this entry; and our message boards have at least a dozen threads from this week discussing different aspects of today’s game.

You want the opinions of a simpleton like me? I’ve seen Georgia Tech play twice, and NC State play three times. NC State looked like a good football team (not great, but good). Georgia Tech looked like hot garbage smells. If we play our game, I fully expect a win today.

i would not stop being aggressive here. We get a touchdown here and it really puts GT in a heap of trouble.

Let Russell keep passing. His accurate short and mid-range passing game can run the clock just like the running game but with more reliable results.

    Just like that!

    Grrr. Throw the ball.

We need 7 to make a statement and to put this game out of reach(3 possessions).

Agreed Sweet jumper. The big reason to go conservative is to prevent a turnover. As little as Russell turns it over I think that letting him throw is LESS risky in our situation.

But killing the clock on the ground is the accepted standard so I’m sure that’s all we’ll see unless we get into a 3rd and long situation.

Plz2B … I think the only real issues are (1) tackling [AT TIMES] and (2) missed FGs/offensive drives ending with no points. As for composure, poise, scoring, defense overall, this team has played very well.

Defense is improved beyond belief. 2 mistakes today led to 2 scores. Tech is still one-dimensional. We’ll see a better offense and defense next week.

And I repeat, give me more Mustafa!

Maybe it won’t matter. Looks like we might punch it in on the ground. Nice.

More, more, more Greene. His vision and his runs between the hashes are so much better…
