Will the embarrassments ever end for almost all things related to NC State University’s Sports Information Department and Wolfpack Sports Marketing?
In case you missed what has become the most viewed entry of 2010 on SFN then you need to take yourself back to this link. (Hat tip to the folks at Deadspin for originally linking this and driving the traffic counts.)
Right after the ‘Wolfpfack’ problem was brought to light, more embarrassing items – like ‘dougouts’ – were discovered by enterprising ‘Wolpfackers’ and discussed in this entry.
Well…today, we look forward to welcoming football season with the following gem from an email from GoPack.com promoting a ‘mini-fack’ of tickets. Please notice the incorrect spelling of what should have been ‘Cincinnati’.
The mis-spelling of Cincinnati is bad enough on its own. But, what if I told you that the Athletics Department had already received criticism for previously misspelling “Appreciation” on another marketing document focused on the very same game? Would you…could you…be even more flabbergasted if you were to learn that this kind of mistake was made earlier in the year and the department didn’t even bother to correct their mistake? Take a look at the spelling of “Military Apprecitation Day” on the picture (below) taken from the free schedule poster available to fans at this year’s Spring Football game in April.
This entry would be sad enough if we were highlighting only one incompetent document with multiple mistakes…but the fact that almost every document released from the incompetents in West Raleigh carries with it glaring spelling mistakes is…[insert your own description here].
