I would looove to go to this as my family has a beach house in Surfside SC, (just south of Myrtle) but my mother is having surgery next friday and won’t be able to go.

Hopefully we can make a little noise.

Invitation was earned the hard way but at least we get to play. My hope is that we continue to hit the ball and outscore opponents. Pitching was somewhat improved at the tournament.
I will say that given adversity this team does have and play with heart.

    Go PACK!!

Why did SFN beat the official site of the Pack to post this? Unbelievable.

But the issue at hand is Coastal Carolina is very good.

I like our matchup with CofC, which is good as that’s a must-win. Beating Coastal twice is probably beyond us but definitely so if we get hung with a loss right out of the gate.

I’m a lifelong Wolfpack fan, whose lived in Myrtle Beach the past 25 years (and whose son is a Senior at Coastal Carolina)… I also love the Chanticleers, this weekend is going to be a living hell for me!!! I’ve seen Coastal play 30X this year, including the pounding they gave the Pack on the same field that will be hosting the Regional (I even used to be the radio play-by-play announcer for CCU), so I’m going to be completely torn-up inside… But, it’s just not in my DNA to root against my beloved Wolfpack and I even told CCU Coach Gary Gilmore that at CCU’s Tourney Selection Show party this afternoon… Damnit!

I wouldn’t put a lot of stock in that Feb game…this isn’t the same Pack Team…..Plus we have 3 weekend starters now who can hang with most anyone….Sogards well now….

I view this as a very winnable draw. Let’s hope the team can stay hot and put it together now that it matters most.

This team does have a lot of heart and should play with a chip on it’s shoulder. Coastal does appear to be very formidable.

It’s great that the Wolfpack made it to the postseason and that they get to play close to home in the first round. Here’s hoping for some great playing and a little bit of luck to get us to the Super Regional.

did I read correctly that Coastal is one of the national seeds? I guess a lot of elite ball players like the idea of living and going to school at the beach!!

^Yes, you read correctly. Coastal is the #4 national seed. I believe their 51 wins led the nation.

Coastal Carolina has been a baseball factory for years now. This draw looks easy from the average sports fan’s perspective, but it hardly is.

    I’ll be watching. Go Wolfpack.
