Looks like Javi is trying to get T’d now. In fairness to him, a couple of tough calls have gone against him in favor of Delaney.

68-56 VT w/ over a minute to play.

Something to think about when looking at these fouls throughout the game. The ACC has alot of stake in VT winning this game. We probably burst VT’s bubble, so the ACC gets another team in the NCAAT. I think ACC officiating is questionable at best. It’s starting to remind me of the NBA. It just seems after 2-3 minutes, you can tell which team they want to win.

VT calls timeout to get their seniors in w/ under a minute to play.

Just a matter of the final score now.

I don’t think we got screwed tonight, but there were a few tough calls tonight.

But the big picture is that we were pretty bad tonight.

Oh well, 4-11 … same as Miami.

The battle for 11th and 12th happens this weekend. Don’t miss it!

And you don’t have to only look at fouls. You can look at called traveling or traveling NOT called. Questionable out of bounds calls. Basketball is by far the easiest game for officials to decide if they want to.

20 turnovers on the road will never cut it unless your player in the 80s. We’re a long way off from that. Better beat BC at home or else we could be DFL.

    71-59 Final.

VT gets a must win. We look terrible, but they did fight til the end. (Yes, I know they’re supposed to but it hasn’t always been the case.)

Fouls or not, we are an awful team, and will continue to be awful with Sid in charge. The man can’t coach, or his assistants. They are losers, and to keep him another year is torment. No matter who will be on the team next year, if they don’t have a coach, we will again fail, and then what excuse will come up to keep him another year. I never wanted him, and we have gotten just what I expected. Thanks so much Lee Foulup. You get paid to be the AD. UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!!

We are looking a a best case scenario of 11th place.

  9. 61Packer 03/03/2010 at 9:15 PM #

Jed was right, we’re moving in the right direction. Lost to the Gobblers by only 12 this time, not by 20.

  10. blpack 03/03/2010 at 9:18 PM #

Although it was nice I hope no one got too excited about the two game winning streak. We beat a team playing badly and a bad team. We are bad too. Maybe we can get one more win on Sunday. One more year…

  11. wufpup76 03/03/2010 at 9:21 PM #

Somebody needs to make a campaign poster of an enthusiastic Fowler with a slogan of

“ONE more year! One more year!”

    WTNY FTW.

*OFF SUBJECT* I noticed JJ Hickson working on a NICE Double Double with 20 points and 11 rebounds and 5 minutes left!

  13. tulsapack 03/03/2010 at 9:35 PM #

Sad to say it but the difference between 11th and 12th is pretty big since that means a guaranteed ESPN slot for the Big Ten Challenge. Unfortunately BC is whipping Virginia so we can’t knock them into last.

  14. 61Packer 03/03/2010 at 9:39 PM #

A guaranteed slot in next season’s Big Ten Challenge will be another guaranteed loss for the Wolfpack because the game will be on the road and Sidney Lowe will be the coach. That’s the most solid guarantee in all of college basketball.

I thought employees get job performance evaluations. But I guess not so @ NCSU. Lee Fowler, and Sidney Lowe have failed miserably. How many coaches keep their jobs with a record like Sid’s, especially in the conference? Only NCSU, the home of give em another year.

i watched the game via play by play on espn! glad i didn’t spend ten bucks on that game. regardless of how badly we suck, acc markets should see every game. we just don’t have the talent to compete. i don’t care who the coach is, and i’m not trying to start a thousand post spread… but we have to do better than this! the current players don’t have any magical run coming in the acc tourney. they aren’t good enough to win the NIT. we need talent, experience, depth. i’m just tired of seeing this level of play, got to get better

On the bright side, my house is looking really good since I’ve replaced following the games with doing reno chores. Two hours worth twice a week gets a lot done!

WOlfy, so how do we beat Duke, WF, and FSU, and some of the other good teams out of conference, Like Marquette on the road. Obviously there is potential on the team, and if we had the right coach, we would certainly have a better record. So if we have these talented players next year, will everyone finally see the light. 4 years with no improvement, or progress, and year 5 will change things. Not hardly. Does have the losingest record in Men’s basketball not account for anythng? Has he ever coached a winning team? Again, never, and we think next year will be different. At least I have saved alot of money on tickets. Wouldn’t waste mine on anything Lowe coaches. We are as Lowe a we can go. Embarrassment. Don’t even get upset anymore when we lose to UNC, or for that matter, lose to anyone.

Two more losses, one Sunday and one in the opening game of the ACCT and this dog is dead. 16-16/4-13.

“Sad to say it but the difference between 11th and 12th is pretty big since that means a guaranteed ESPN slot for the Big Ten Challenge.”

Does it really matter if we get a game with Iowa, Penn State or Indiana — all extremely suck ass teams? I don’t think that one would really draw a whole lot of fan interest and is destined for ESPNU. Obviously, you don’t want to finish DFL. But with all of the NIT talk and now this notion, I kind of feel like our goals are to reach for the next monkey bar.

Don’t even get upset anymore when we lose to UNC, or for that matter, lose to anyone.

This is so sad, but so true. I monitored the game on the ESPN.com scoreboard last night and when it was over I wasn’t surprised, upset, disappointed, nothing. I used to get pissed when we lost. Now I expect it. I would love to get pissed off again, but without a competitive team it’s like why bother? I still watch whenever I can, but even that isn’t the same. I hardly yell at the TV any more unless there’s a horrible call or the announcer says something retarded. Even when we win, it’s nice, but it’s hardly exciting to go from 12th to 11th with a big victory.

Yep. Sid’s brought the passion back.

  22. coachkoh 03/04/2010 at 8:00 AM #

It is sad hearing people talk about finishing 11th as if it were a great accomplishment. If Sid remains it will be the same story once again next year.
The league on a whole was pathetic and to finish 11th or DFL what a joke.

Spring is coming, snow is melting, time to plant flowers. It’ll be nice to have something to do this month.

“How many coaches keep their jobs with a record like Sid’s, especially in the conference?”
    ———————————————————————-

Just Sid’s predecessor… that’s all, and get this… his FIFTH year was actually WORSE than his fourth. This is Sid’s 4th. Facts are fun.
