Must Listen: Taylor Zarzour begins new show with a bang! [Updated at 10:30am]

We’re sorry that it took us a couple of days to get this posted to the website…but, the comments and perspectives espoused in the following audio by local sports radio host, Taylor Zarzour are timeless.

This is the very first segment of Zarzour’s brand new show, “Sportsdrive with Taylor Zarzour” heard on 620 The Buzz in the Triangle. This link will take you to their website and we would ask that you would be so kind as to hit their website with a visit to show some gratitude for their generosity of allowing us to use their audio.

10:30am Update
Frumpzilla.com has jumped on the Lee Fowler discussion with a really nice synopsis piece that can be viewed by clicking here. The entry and some of the commentors are using statistics that SFN has helped generate and share with the public for years (we’re not complaining – just would appreciate a little mention sometimes).

If you visit our message boards then you saw most of these pictures in recent weeks in some of our conversations. To add one more embarrassment to the discussion that Frumpzilla could have included — all I can say is COUGAR!

Please check back with SFN in the middle of this afternoon for an entry that you are not going to want to miss.

Also based on the comments made by his daughter to me at a recent NCSU game I wholeheartedly believe that he’ll be gone sooner rather than later. This whole lack of performance thing is coming to a boiling point and what better way for Woodson to start his career here than to hire a Lee Fowler replacement.

While I like his comments, I wouldn’t read too much into Zarzour. Follow the money — he’s the sports director at Curtis Media, whose owner is a huge UNC donor and typical Tar Heel homer. They need ratings for advertising — don’t think for two seconds that he’s in “our corner.”

I absolutely 100% agree that there’s something more to this than just idle speculation. Why would you choose to lead on the first day of your new show with this, unless there was some fire starting under all that smoke?

I mean, if it is just more idle speculation, there’d be at least a dozen better sports topics he could have begun the show with this.

I think he’s thinking–when this comes to pass next week, I will be credited with the scoop.

The blood’s in the water, and Zarzour is just the first media shark to go into the feeding frenzy. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Tudor or one of the other N&O guys weigh in over the next 48-72 hours…you know this has to be one of the topics the media are chattering among themselves about at the ACC tournament this weekend, because that is one of the few events of the year in our area that has all the local sports media personalities in one place at one time…

You mean, Fowler’s daughter said something to you? I’d like to hear more. You’re not just yanking our chains, are you?

The thoughts of unloading Fowler leave me with the same feeling I had the day I learned that HWSBN was leaving for Arizona State. It’s not as good as the feeling of winning a championship, but it’s a feeling of hope for the program that I haven’t had in a long time. If we have good people at the top, then bad coach problems will take care of themselves. Having Fowler is WORSE than having bad coaches. At least with a good AD, you know they’ll take care of it when we have a bad coach.
