We’re still in last place trailing UNC and UM by 1/2 game in the loss column.

“wait. does this mean unc is bottom of the conference? i can gloat about this.”

They are 3-9 and we are 3-10

I am the jinx. I started watching with about 2 minutes to go, and the Pack wins. Yay. And my chore list is really getting smaller.

Good game, some good D. Is CJ making his only appearance of the year?

  5. old13 02/20/2010 at 3:57 PM #

Painter played enough to miss three FGs.

  6. Rick 02/20/2010 at 3:57 PM #

I fell asleep twice in the game.

Great job today. Always good to beat Wake.

A good W in paper at least, plus BC won!

Now, wouldn’t it be great if this same team would show up next time?

Like any other Wolfpack faithful, any small win counts!

why so negative even when we win?

  11. wolfonthehill 02/20/2010 at 4:07 PM #

Thank you, Wake Forest, for 40 minutes of suck.

  12. wolfonthehill 02/20/2010 at 4:08 PM #

GA – try Akai Hana in Carrboro sometime… if you like lesbian-watching… cool with me. 🙂

  13. GAWolf 02/20/2010 at 4:08 PM #

Who is being negative? I’m thrilled! My kid is on Franklin St for the first time and UNC loses and we win. It’s a sign.

Great win, they did quit and played hard.

We won, and Dave Odom is still saying Wake Forest has a chance to come back?
“Where does Raycom sports get these guys?:Jason Capel, Eddie Folger, Dave Odom? Who is next? Bob Stack, Bob Wade? Maybe Pete Gaudet??

Good win by young guns, but wake better WAKE UP!!
Wonder how many more wins we would have if we had a coach???
This had to be the ugliest win in college basketball history!!!

  17. philliepacker 02/20/2010 at 4:29 PM #

Perfect and a win is a win no matter if the other team shows up or not. Hopefully Sidney Lowe will be on Raycoms list.

good win, but the pessimist in me says this is more blind squirrel finding a nut if anything. How often are you gonna play a team that doesn’t make a single 3 pointer?

At the very least, it shows we can beat teams who are playing very badly.

  19. MA Wolfpack 02/20/2010 at 4:48 PM #

NCSU managed to not make a 3 in a game this year so that just evened out for us. Sid’s going to get the 4 ACC wins out of this team that I expected. Any more than 4 is over achieving with this team.

By the way, UVA continues to play to their talent level. They are 1 hour from falling to 5-7 now. The Tony Bennett love affair earlier this year was a complete joke…we have no idea if he can coach in the ACC or not. If UVA does not win @ Miami this week, then I think they’ll lose out and finish 5-11. I’ll be shocked if they are better than 6-10.

The unbalanced conference schedule eliminates being able to evaluate a team at the half way point without thinking about the teams they have played and the teams they have not played. NCSU is yet to play Miami or BC this year.

Our rims are courteousy of the NC State Fair.

“The Tony Bennett love affair earlier this year was a complete joke”

I would switch right now no questions asked.

    Please explain to me:

    1. Our only conference wins are against ranked (at the time) teams, including the only school in the conference close to being a power team – Duke?

    2. Why does Mays, when bringing the ball up court, always go to his left to the backcourt sideline, turn his back on the left frontcourt corner, and the dribble in an arc across the top of the key to the right backcourt? I’m not knocking it as it may be what he’s taught to do. But why does he always do it ( as I have noticed?) Anybody have iny insight about this? Seems to me like it wastes alot of time that could be used to set up Tracy or someone else.

  24. MrPlywood 02/20/2010 at 5:36 PM #

Not only does he do that, but during end-game time he and Javi both dribble around with zero passes then hoist some fallaway prayer. All while Smith has position on the block or there are wing guys open. If they do make a pass, it’s cross-court near the halfcourt line, ripe for getting picked, as opposed to an inlet pass down low. Doubly frustrating is the fact that 2 of my fave State guards of all time are on the bench, supposedly coaching.

2nd game I have been to this year…They POUNDED us on the boards but couldn’t make any 3’s and we did. Ish Smith is a prick crybaby.

I thought I saw Derrick Whittenburg sitting near Burleson…can anyone verify?
