“The Red Blazer scares no one”

Sorry 09, that shirt goes in the painting and car working drawer.

ed davis wouldn’t have made that much of a difference. i would have rather seen him on the court. zeller would have made a more significant impact at full health than davis. overall, i think the bigs for both teams did their jobs as compared to the guards. there is a deficit on both squads. the moral victory for me is our sonic brown bag burger all american (javi) exceeds his ability more than their mcdonalds all american. it would have been fitting for us to win with all the blowharding for unc-ch’s 100 years talk. that really irritated me. but i’m glad hinson got called for goaltending. i think that is ther first time all year. if ed davis had played, i think we would have seen less of hinson.. which i think would be good. for our team, i think we executed about as well as we could. through most of the game i felt the defense held their ground.. offensively, they looked decent. i think unc just wore us down. painter made some good contributions. howell played really well. well, all our bigs played pretty good. i liked woods play as well, he’s seeing his mistakes.. going through some growing pains..typical FRESHMAN. he’ll be good. howell will be good. painter will be good. our guards will be good. whoever is coaching this team, they will have a very solid ncaa contending team on their hands. oh yeah, i forgot to mention josh davis, he’ll be here four years and be one of our bestest! lighten up, regardless of the staff there are some really good components in place. unc played above their ability in a couple areas today, the only place we seriously messed up is with continuing defensive pressure on them. but we probably did that to the best of our ability.

    Coaching fail. Athletics department fail.

  4. Class of 2009 02/13/2010 at 6:15 PM #

Resources without allocation is useless. You don’t have an AD that cares about anything but facilities, a college administration that doesn’t this its “their responsibility” and is afraid to take “ownership” of the toxic assets of our athletic program, and a fanbase that wants action devoid of a long-term plan.

No, it’s not too unreasonable that NC State can’t pull a DUKE Football move and retreat into obscurity until decades and decades later.

  5. blpack 02/13/2010 at 6:15 PM #

Teams are a reflection of their coach. We looked slow, weak and not very basketball smart. An average coach would have had this team in the game heading down the home stretch with a chance to win.
See you at the UMd game. Hope they have a Duke hangover.

yo i just read on the forum that our two recruits are going to waiver their signings. Is this possible? or is this just bs? Read it. It is under “ease my mind on this 2010 recruits”.

79, dude, were you drinking while you watched the game?
…not that that wouldn’t be an adviseable activity while watching an NCSU hoops game….

In Lowe’s 4th year we are tracking to finish 2-14 in the conference. I absolutely despise Lee Fowler for putting us in this position.

This is the worst team of Lowe’s tenure. All with the guys he recruited. I don’t care who we have coming in next year, he should be fired.

We need to acknowledge that the Sid experiment has been a complete failure. Thank him for trying, wipe the slate clean, and start from scratch.

  12. Class of 2009 02/13/2010 at 6:19 PM #

Justin, if true, that pretty much eliminates 50% of the reason to keep Sidney Lowe another season. The other 50% is Lee Fowler still having a job.

My 3-month-old son hasn’t pooped in two days. I told him to pretend he was NC State’s basketball team. Within 30 seconds he let out the worst SBD in history. Just a preview of things to come. Kind of like today’s game. Maybe when he finally clears things out I’ll send the diaper to Fowler.

  14. GoldenChain 02/13/2010 at 6:22 PM #

2 are signed and can only get a release if Sid leaves.

  15. Wulfpack 02/13/2010 at 6:23 PM #

Javi played another horrible game. How anyone can think he played well makes me seriously question their basketball IQ.

It may not be his fault, though. Sid hasn’t given him any tools/weapons.

  16. Rochester 02/13/2010 at 6:26 PM #

Speaking of basketball IQ, Scott Wood is the only guy who shows any on our team. He has a higher basketball IQ than our three PG combined.

If recruit don’t come, then we don’t have WTNY going for us. Time to start the WTN2Y excuses.

N & O: ” The good new for UNC: The Tar Heels are better than N.C. State. The bad news for the Heels: They don’t have any more games left on the schedule against the Wolfpack.”

    Perfectly put.

  19. GoldenChain 02/13/2010 at 6:28 PM #

“.. are you in credit trouble? IT’s NOT YOUR FAULT!…”
“…are you over weight? IT’s NOT YOUR FAULT!…”
“…do you sux at PG despite having two NC PGs as your coaches? IT’s NOT YOUR FAULT!…”

Wulf, I’m waiting for the infomercial.

  20. Rochester 02/13/2010 at 6:30 PM #

We all love to bash on Lee Fowler, but he’s going to deserve a lot of credit when we rejoin the Southern Conference. I bet we can finish in the top half of the standings there in our reunion season.

  21. GoldenChain 02/13/2010 at 6:30 PM #

Roch, I think Smith has some IQ, just no one to get him the ball.

  22. turnoffthetv 02/13/2010 at 6:31 PM #

anybody catch the comment by LEN EL-MORON about that state was expected to be better than the cellar dwellar this year. I want some of what he’s been smoking.

  23. ncdawg1 02/13/2010 at 6:46 PM #

I’m a Georgia fan and don’t have a Dawg in this fight, but when the hell is NCSU going to become a legitimate athletic power? You’re at most .500 in the real sports, and you seem a long way away from being any better. What has to be done? Just curious.

  24. Thompson44 02/13/2010 at 7:14 PM #

To borrow a line from Huckleberry Hound “Can we go any lower”. Answer we are DFL and a horrible basketball team. Sit Horner, sit Javi and start Degand at Point, Wood at Shooting gaurd, Smith, Painter and Howell. Suck it up and give the heralded freshman as we were told PLAY. This year is a total waste might as well give these guys some PT and look forward to next year. That is if our commits don’t decommit because they see that in 4 years we have only gotten worse. I would rather put Burleson, Towe and Thompson as they are now in the game and let’s see how they would fare.

  25. USSRvsunc 02/13/2010 at 7:16 PM #

First post obviously due to the extreme disdain for the teams we have been producing in the past 20 years. I think we should give Lowe 1 more year. He did help get us 1 national championship just not as a coach. It is obvious that recruiting is all that matters in college sports as is evident in the season that UNC is having. Coaching is 90 % getting talent and 10% coaching it.

Turing around a football or basketball team can happen real quickly…ask Roy, Nick Saban or John Calipari. We should not settle for this crap right now. We need to get this season over and clear most of the team from the scholarship rolls. Keep Tracy Smith and I don’t know who else. And stop firing those threes all the damn time. If we could hit them regularly that is one thing.

The name is from my Dad and I pulling for the Soviets in the 80s during exhibition games vs UNC. I would pull for the Taliban today. Why the hell can’t we take advantage of UNC having one of its worst teams in years. It kills me. Glad I don’t contribute to the Wolfpack Club. I would have better results throwing my money down the gutter. I refuse to support them until they start producing results. I will not waste money on a losing cause and I am starting to not give a damn about the program either if it keep up like this too long. We had better improve in football next year.
