61 packer and Frankie need to start a scouting website.

They know everything about these guys from 3 minutes of footage. Lo Brown didn’t hit a 15 footer or play defense in the 38 seconds we saw him…therefore he never does. Brilliant!

I don’t need a hug, but these guys on the video might.

these are good recruits, quit trippin! i guess i know kinda where you are going with your comments, but i would much rather have players that want to play pro ball than one’s who don’t..

in addition to that, imagine these two players joining this year’s team.. they both can create their own offense, and really open up the rest of the offense.

Our recruits may need a hug? What does that even mean?

  6. packfan03 01/28/2010 at 9:49 PM #

congratulatory hug for being incredibly talented?

Brown is a man among boys as he is almost 20 y/o! Harrow looks nice but if you are going to show these tapes, especially about a future pt guard could I see him throw one pass?

In most videos I’ve seen he passes the ball a good bit. I do think he shoots it more playing with his HS team than he does playing AAU ball. When he played with CJL this fall, he made alot of sweet passes to CJL.

Seems some of you have given up . Hey you could switch and be heels or duke fans since it so hard for you to be State fans. Harrow & Brown are going to kill it @ State for 3 or 4 years . I can’t think of a better 2 gaurd combo in the ACC . These kids will change this program very quick look for Tracy to have a huge senior season . (these two like dishing out assist) I think both guys are so far ahead of there peers right now that there board ,but I have seen when they play better comp they excel all great signs for our future , and as far as Sid goes he has soild game plans just needs better talent to execute those plans. (i.e. Harrow & Brown) So go ahead jump ship if you can’t take it any more ,but when things make that turn for the better maybe some of ya’ll will then understand that you never did. GO PACK!!!

” I think both guys are so far ahead of there peers right now that there board”

I am not sure what “there board” means but…

They compose the third ranked recruiting class in the ACC so while exceptionally good there is nothing to indicate they are “so far ahead of there (SIC) peers”.

Harrow can’t drive hard to his left, nor can he finish with his left in any of the videos i’ve watched. big red flag there. i don’t want to see him dunk, i want to see him work on his fundamentals.

    come on man…

“Harrow can’t drive hard to his left, nor can he finish with his left in any of the videos i’ve watched. big red flag there”

I did not notice this about Harrow.
I will say John Wall was the most right centric player I have ever seen in high school. He would dribble down the left side of the court just so he could keep going right.
That is something that is pretty easy to fix IMO.

  14. packfan03 01/29/2010 at 2:39 PM #

Are you questioning Harrow’s amphibiousness? As long as the ball makes a swan dive through the basket, I don’t have a problem.

That said, his dribbling skills (left and right) are terrific – Hopefully the left handed layup will be developed over time. Either way you slice it, he’ll be an upgrade – as will LoZo.

Yeah I have seen Ryan go hard left plenty of times. If he didn’t that hanging crossover of his wouldn’t work. He just goes out of his way to finish with the right. And I love to see him dunk, that shows he can start the break and finish on the break. If I see Javi/Mays/Degand blow one more lay-up I’m going to scream.

These videos are put together to produce hype about players, not show off fundamentals.

Ryan Harrow was picked to be the best incoming defender in the ACC next year (I forget what ranking this was). Defensive stops just don’t make the highlight reel.

Harrow was selected to be the best scoring PG coming into the ACC next year. I don’t think he’ll have any trouble dishing out tons of assists, but hasn’t the criticism for the last 4 years been that we don’t have any scorers, but just role players? Come end of the game, tied or down by 2, I think we’ll love having Harrow handle to ball.

I’ve seen plenty of footage showing Harrow’s passing ability – the kid is the real deal. Haven’t seen as much footage of Brown, but a year at Hargrave should’ve at least strengthened his frame, as well as his academic discipline.

They will be an upgrade, no doubt.

  18. Wolfy__79 01/29/2010 at 4:47 PM #

yeah, what’s the deal. how can your starting pg miss layups (javi)?

  19. Thinkpack17 01/29/2010 at 4:55 PM #

I actually shouldn’t have included Mays because he never really gets to the rim.

  20. Wolfy__79 01/29/2010 at 8:25 PM #

no, it’s really just javi and degand. mays pulls up about ten feet or so. i hope to see a clinic tommorrow. i don’t care if we run the score up to 120!! they’ve got to get a rhythm going…

Hey, just read the bit on gopack about Fire & Ice. They were amazing. I’ll never forget how Corch could back into his defender and have the defender fall on top of him. And Rodney’s tip-in during that 4 overtime WF game. I wish they’d gotten by G-town.
Maybe these two are our next legendary guard combo. It wouldn’t hurt my feelings. “Harrow & Brown” “Ry & Lo” Got to work on our marketing.
