Changes coming to SFN

Wanted to give you the heads up that as we turn the corner into 2010 we will be turning the corner with a few changes and improvements around here. Looking forward to 2010!

I’ve been traveling for the holidays and business the last couple of days…so, please remember to check our message forums for real time conversation on a variety of key topics during the day.

    Good to hear that you’ve turned the corner, hopefully you’re getting shed of about half of those dozen authors (just kidding!). I hope the changes do not involve giving into opinion without justification.
    SFN to me has been the ‘thinking man’s’ blog on Wolfpack sports with good analysis and thought (generally backed with facts and stats). Just like “some” of the other sites are ultra pro-rah-rah sites I always thought of SFN as giving a realistic view of the condition of our sports program.
    One suggestion I have is to have a prominent feedback button somewhere so that those of us who aren’t in the ‘gang of 12’ could offer ideas on topics etc (maybe that exists somewhere but if it does it’s discrete).

    I second golden chain’s idea. I’m not sure who the gang of 12 is, must have missed that reference along the way. As I have said many times, you guys are the best. This is the most intelligent place on the net to talk about State. That comes from someone who has been on the site since the Impack days. Please know your labor of love is prized by so many. I do think realistic appraisals (good or bad) do get shouted down too often.

    ….and now, I know for sure, I just added a whole gang to my Wolfpack.

    Serously though, what can you improve? Are you installing a troll meter?

    Except those of us who are too lazy to figure out how to use the shared profile. 😉

    Put me in the group traveling with spotty internet access as well. I got to catch up some last night from my daughter’s I-pod during supper.

    When Jeff first told the authors that he was planning to add forums to SFN, this was one of the ways that he saw the forums being used. In other words, suppose someone has a thought or question and only has a limited amount of information available on a given subject. Take that thought and info to the forum and start a thread. Other people could then chime in and add any information and opinions to the original subject.

    I would most definitely suggest/propose that the message boards are designed exactly for the needs that you suggested. They are there to give everyone a voice and give you the opportunity to help set the agenda and drive conversations where you can create your own topics.

    StateFans… I may have missed it somewhere, but I have not seen BJD95 blogging or commenting recently. Any news? Is he ok? I often enjoy his irreverant take on things and his perspectives.

    Just curious.

    SFN, thanks, still wouldn’t hurt to have some type of feedback mechanism in case someone want to say something to ‘the powers that be’ without posting it for all to see …. but whatever.
    (I realize that this is your hobby and not your job)

    I trust that any changes will be positive improvements regardless like they always have been.

    Hello, guys. Still alive, will be blogging again one of these days. Just going through some “life” stuff and haven’t been paying much attention of late. But just like those poor bastards on A&E’s “Intervention,” I’m sure I’ll be back with that needle sooner or later…
