The new school year is upon us and I still have some summaries of the 2008-2009 season to share, better late than never I suppose. This entry will take a look at conference and national titles for both the 2008-2009 school year, for the 9 year tenure of Lee Fowler as AD and for the last 4 years after the ACC fully expanded to include all 12 schools.

NC State and Virginia Tech are the only ACC schools that did not win a team national championship over the past 9 seasons.
Of the non-expansion ACC schools, NC State has won ACC titles in the least number of different sports.

Observations:
Virginia, Florida St, North Carolina and Duke have won more ACC titles in the last 4 seasons than NC State has won in the past 9 seasons.
North Carolina has won as many national championships (4) in the 4 year expansion era as NC State has won ACC titles.
Maryland has won more national championships (6) in the 4 year expansion era than NC State has won ACC titles (4).
