If there’s a political connection, I don’t like this at all! Obviously, nobody is learning anything! Same old crap or so it seems!

    DD, SOS.

Everyone has some kind of “connection” or politcal connection…so, there is no way to avoid that. Bob Jordan has been out of politics for quite a while and is generally considered to be legitimately well respected.

Bob Jordan is an awesome pick. Unless you have a frame of reference of who he is I’d suggest you stuff it. Jordan was Lt. Governor over two decades ago. Hasn’t been involved in politics since that point. Very successful self-made businessman with more moral character than this entire board combined and a six pack of Pat Robertsons. I have great respect for Bob Jordan. At this particular point in time we couldn’t have picked a better man. I suggest you do some online research and/or speak with those who know him to form a clear opinion.

Per the Greensboro News and Record article, he will only serve until July when a new slate of board members is selected. Sounds like he’s just watching the store for a very short period of time so no need to get all worked up one way or the other.

FYI: Jordan Hall, that’s the big mutha up on Western Blvd, is named after the Jordan family.

I haven’t heard much bad about Bob since Jim Martin pounded him back in 88.

I did love the monkey on roller skates doing back flips in the political ad.

Yeah, he’s only here until the 14th of July. Whether or not he is reappointed is another matter, but for now he’s a VERY temporary Chair.

Bob Jordan is well respected, no question. But he does represent the precursor to the “leadership” we seem stuck with in our Legislature, and hence the Greater University system. But that is the system, and it has worked for 200+ years, even with a few bumps in the road.

What seems sorely missing these days are leaders that really want to lead. It seems most today are just up for the power rush, and any personal gain they can garner before going out to pasture.

The personal gain part confounds me, as most of these jokers are wealthy to begin with. The power seems to be the culprit, as most get an inflated sense of who or what they are. It’s kind of like the prima donna atheletes. When everyone kisses your ass and makes you think you can do no wrong, you start believing it.

The guys/gals in these power positions believe they are above reproach. That’s what laws are made for, and some of these power brokers will crumble. Probably not enough to make a difference, though.

These days? You mean…there was a time when this WASNT the case? Were we walking upright during these times? Had we mastered fire yet?

I’m not knocking Jordan since that’s been so long ago, I’ve forgotten what transpired during his watch. However, we need some fresh new positive leadership, not just SOS as someone else said.

I haven’t read the article yet, but I assuming this is just an interim situation? It frightens me to think that Lee may move his fishing retreat to Jordan Lake though.

Excellent choice. Bob Jordan is a fine, well-respected, loyal Wolfpacker. I wouldn’t mind if he stayed longer but he is getting some age on his bones.
