Site Note: We Just Passed 100,000 Comments This Week (Updated)

Sometime over the weekend, Statefans Nation recorded its 100,000th comment from you, our readers.  I’m not sure which one of you clicked the odometer over to six digits, but it speaks well for all of you folks that this site has such a lively community.

Back in November we ran an entry focused some of our recent statistics.

In the six to seven weeks since that entry SFN – best blog of 2007 – has surpassed a milestone that we wanted to share with all of the community — readers have logged 100,000 COMMENTS at SFN since we launched the site in late November of 2004!!

WOW! We are particularly proud of this milestone since we have to employ excessively aggressive spam filters and exercise a practice of moderating comments with more focus than many sites and have a practice of deleting wasteful comments that offer no real value to conversations.

We just wanted to say THANK YOU for your support of the site. Additionally

While we have your attention, please allow us to:

(1) direct you to our FaceBook group site and ask that you not hesitate to sign up for membership. We don’t utilize this tool as effectively as we should right now.

(2) highlight our appearance in the NC State Alumni Magazine that carried with it a fantastic set of comments/conversation.

    I am a long time reader, 3rd generation student, and life long fan of wolfpack sports. I dont believe there is any question who has the most loyal fans in the acc. Just look at the years of frustration we have had to endure and still continue to draw interest. Go Pack!

    Of the 100,000 posts, 99,998 were coherent. Fred and I apologize for having too much beer on the other two! Maybe they got deleted anyway so do they count????

    Tell us more. The course I live on is not exclusive, but it’s a pretty decent track (Eagle Ridge.)

    Seriously, I think we should all have an SFN post-season golf tourney and get-together.
