Just a little something to prepare you for the impressive pre-game atmosphere in Chapel Hill, this was taken with my phone from a parking deck (surprise, surprise) before the 06 game.

But they’ve got those pine trees going for them. Which is nice.

    GAWolf,

    You are right on. I haven’t been in Athens for a football game since 2000 but they open up much of the campus for parking on Friday afternoon- If I remember correctly. Not only do they open lots for season ticket holders but most any place you can pull a car without blocking anything. The lawns outside of dorms and any other open area is available.

    I think it would be cool if State’s new emergency alarm system with speakers all around campus could play the Red Wolf howl before big games. This could be used to ‘test’ the system and get students up for a game. It would be neat if at 9am tomorrow morning students on campus woke up to the howling wolf echoing through campus.

    I guess it would scare the heels out of the deer on Centennial Campus.

    There’s some symbolism in that photograph. First off we see two “guys”, sitting alone on a street corner in Chapel Hill no less, at a nicely decorated table with a nifty little powder blue table cloth. Then, as a backdrop, there are the road markings, pointing in two totally different directions, and symbolizing a question of which way to go.

    They must be freshmen.

    Every game Roger and I swear to each other we are going to get copies made and pass them out along Trinity Road. We figure all we have to do is tell the students how much it would piss to admin off if the did that cheer… And every week we make the same limp promise again.
