JJ Hickson provides ESPN’s #1 play of Thursday night

JJ Hickson’s monster dunk viewable in the highlights at this link was ESPN Sportscenter’s top play of last night. NC State did not get a mention during the Sportscenter broadcast that I saw but we are mentioned in the highlight reel linked above.

This serves as a pretty good follow-up to this entry from Wednesday.

We were mentioned during the broadcast when JJ Hickson had his shot block last night by Emka Okafur. Paraphrasing but they said something to the likes of ” You can do what you did at NC State here big fellow, this is the big league”. All is the course of them playing his shot getting block twice in a row. But then the show him getting the dunk in the second half and mentions he’s from NC State again.

it was clear he is a rookie with the announcer screaming in the background “welcome to Cleveland big fella!” and naturally people that are impressed with him and want to know more will figure it out. and if these pepes are recruits… good stuff.

Great For Hickson. He has been a great promoter of Lowe and our program. He a big reason for the Ga. connection and top guys taking a look at us. Charlotte Heelcats didn’t look too good. Brown stuck with Felton and cheeseburger Maye a standard joke around here. Once again he not in “playing shape.” No secret throughout the NBA, Bobcats on the market. Call Bob Johnson today and make an offer. He learned the hard way, tar holes don’t buy tickets for anything other than the dean dome. And everybody else hates tar holes. ABC hurt the Bobcats. easiest ticket in town!

now how is this good for recruiting????

I’ve hated this Tar Heel/Bobcat connection from the “get go” and have refused to even go to a game even with free tickets.

May looks like the “Pillsborough Doughboy”!

Maybe Hansborough will end up with them and he can “blow up” too!

health is so imperative to a sport team’s success, now they lose Hansborough and Ginyard for a spell…

if we can stay healthy and use our newbies for their speed (fast-breaking, defensive pressure) we can be ok.

Looks like a good situation for JJ to be able to watch and learn from LeBron. James is such a power player with a great work ethic, who seemingly never takes a play off.

That was no highlight. He just dunked the ball.

I did, as always, however, enjoy yet another commercial of Michael Jordan being too big an asshole to converse with anyone. At least, for the first time in a decade, Jordan gets to speak in a commercial. And you see why that kept him shut up for a decade.

Anybody have more info on ESPN’s report that Travels Hopsbrough has a stress fracture of the leg? Saw earlier today that he is out “indefinitely” with a “stress reaction of the right shin”.

    One can only hope.

Remember Costner had one of those his freshman year, and it put him out for the season.

Yep, old JJ could have stuck around and gone head to head with an ailing Hansbrough this season, but instead, he’s getting his two minutes of PT in the NBA. What more could you ask for?

Costner had a stress fracture, the next step after a stress “reaction”. Unfortunately they caught Hansblow’s before the fracture occurred.

At least Hickson outscored May. Almost outscored Feltone.

Wow. Is the NBA still operating? I figured when a team from Seattle moved to….Oklahoma…that the death rattle had begun.

Anyone know what kind of ratings NBA games in November draw?
