Pray for Russell Wilson

I don’t care who wins or loses this game anymore. I just want confirmation that he can move his legs (Erin Andrews claims he was moving his feet). If you hear anything, please say so in the comments.

UPDATE: Andrews says they are calling it a concussion. More tests pending.

Looks like a long year for us I am afraid, I would say wait for basketball but that too will be another repeat of last year.

Just got back from the game and what I heard on radio was that he’s ok, but they are keeping him overnight for observation.

I was pulling for both teams to keep peace in the family, but that was exactly what I didn’t want to see happen on either team.

If they had called the late hit on the play before like they should have, I’m pretty sure the injury wouldn’t have happened.

When the guy slides, you don’t go for his head….and if you do, you are supposed to be flagged.

The play(s) prior to the concussion were much more egregious than the play that knocked him out. It was the knee that knocked him out and Wilson slid up under that guy. I had the same thing happen in a baseball game where I slid under a guy sprinting for a fly ball. Knocked me out cold just as well. Most anyone who has played sports long enough has taken a knee to the head and suffered a concussion of some degree or another.

I’m elated to hear he’s going to be okay. My biggest fear now is that he will get timid.

I doubt very seriously there will be a confidence problem with Wilson. I doubt he remembers a thing about last night.

When I was in college, I was goofing around with one of my rooommates. We were in the kitchen and I was wearing wool socks. My feet went out from under me and I took my roommates legs out from under him. The people in the room said our heads knocked together and then we both collided with the door frame. It was alumnium and apparently sounded like a shotgun blast.

Everyone thought we were dead…that we had broken our knecks or something. We apparently were completely still for about 10 seconds and then I think I came too first. I don’t remember anything about it other than starting to lose my balance. It felt like my head was stuffed with cotton and I was vaguely aware of pain somewhere in the background.

It took a couple of days before the cobwebs cleared. We both really should have gone to the hospital.

But as far as the incident itself…there’s no memory of it.

GAWolf, i typed the same thing last night (my biggest fear is that most QB’s after concussions can become timid and indecisive, get happy feet, etc.).

But i erased in favor of something else profound that struck me at the time (at least id like to think so).

I remember thinking last night how could this happen to such a good kid in the first damn game? I know it’s tough sport, but just unbelieveable. I don’t think the Universe wants NCSU to succeed in football. Are we cursed?

How can you not feel for the kid and his family… with his Dad ill and then his son goes down… terrible. My thoughts are with the Wilson family and I hope he recovers from this, football or no football. Get well Russell!

Ok, guys, now you know why Noah is like he is! Bumped his head on the door and lost all memory!

Praying for RW and his family. I am glad that the next disaster for NCSU post was removed. Someone really hit that nail on the head.

Sorry for that jab, Noah. My first thought was here’s one of those “one time at band camp stories”.

Any of you guys there last night? Where were you sitting??? I was in the South Upper. Was watching the play when Wilson went down with my binoculars and thought it was lower body until I noticed he wasn’t even moving. Was glad to hear you guys give a loud cheer for Ray Tanner when his name was mentioned. C’mon home, Ray, it’s time.

Also did not talk to a single State fan that had anything nice to say about Fowler so that must mean this Lunatic Fringe group is growing by leaps and bounds!

No, it was funny. It *was* one of those stories.

I would imagine that Wilson won’t even be an option until FSU or BC.

They showed the game over here tonight. I was excited at how they were playing at first and it looked like they were finally getting something going. After the injury, it just didn’t matter anymore. I assumed it would be all downhill from there, but watching him get pounded several times (with no flags) and then the last hit that knocked him out, football just became less important. That’s a good thing since there was no football played for the rest of the game.
