Raleigh Regional – Friday Entry

All NCAA Tournament games can be tracked by clicking here to the NCAA’s scoreboard.

UNC-Charlotte and South Carolina lead off the action at 2pm.

The Wolfpack battles James Madison at 7pm.

If you need more on the Regional then please don’t overlook the fantastic preview that DrBadgerPack put together. (THANKS DBP!)

As we also discussed earlier in the week…there is a lot more riding on this Regional for NC State’s athletics department than just the micro of a few games.

Bloop single by Ferguson makes it 3-1 Pack, bottom 4th. Men on 1st & 2nd, 1 out.

Very good with timely hits through 4. Shunick is still the man.

We needed to get one more there though…1st and 2nd with no outs. Please don’t bunt Marcus again.

The giving up runs w/ 2 outs is a symptom of something. I can’t put my finger on it, but that doesn’t really bother me since Avent and his team can’t figure it out either.

Synan was ejected after a third strike call. The balk call on shunnick and that ejection may end up costing us onlt because be live and die on the the most spasist of margins.

Tanner’s got some big cojones pitching to Poulk with 2nd base open and 2 outs. What a coach!!

SaccoV- ESPNU is strictly airing games from two regionals (Miami’s and whatever that thing out west is– Fullerton maybe?).

we are in the bullpen now–makes me very nervous. Sam Brown gets the call in the 7th. GREAT job by Schunick-outstanding

Which is one more reason why you should never watch ESPN. Have you noticed that there is apparently nothing on sports-wise except for women’s college softball and the NBA finals, which is on ESPN. Ridiculous. I can remember when ESPN was the place to catch great college baseball.

  22. PAPacker 05/31/2008 at 8:22 PM #

  23. PAPacker 05/31/2008 at 8:24 PM #

Elliot LaRussa wore out a path to the mound… and they manage to escape unscathed.
