DaJuan Morgan joins Tank Tyler in Kansas City; D Pressley to New Orleans

KC

NC State’s DaJuan Morgan was chosen by Kansas City with the 82nd selection (3rd round) in today’s NFL Draft. See Morgan’s page on NFL.Com by clicking here.

Ironically, Tank Tyler was chosen by the Chiefs with the 83rd selection last year.

Analysts widely praised the Chiefs’ selection on the first day of the NFL draft and their second day selections are also garnering some praise. The Chiefs have twelve selections in this year’s draft and have publicly stated that they are looking to obtain as many as six new starters.

You gotta wonder what Demario Pressley is thinking right now.

Pressley is now thinking of Bourbon Street. He was just selected in the 5th round, pick 144, by the New Orleans Saints.

    Good luck Demario!

I find it hard to believe that a guy that was in full rotation with Tyler and McCargo a few years back goes 5th round. Given State’s recent track recor for defensive linemen (Williams, Lawson, McCargo, Tyler), I can’t understand why Pressley’s stock wasn’t rated higher….

Despite his listed weight, pressley was about 250 coming out of high school and about 275 one year ago. He added a lot of weight but suffered injuries his last 2 years. He would have really benefitted from a redshirt year, but alas, he did not get it and never really developed into the Corey Simon type of DT he was supposed to be. In my opinion, he is fortunate to have even been drafted.

Chiefs and Vikings really helped each other alot. They both improved their teams alot w that trade.

The 2005 team had more picks (including #1) in the first round than this past year’s team had in the whole draft (with its highest pick coming in the third round), yet the conference record for both teams was the same. Interesting.
