Grant – “No Moral Victories”

My take is closer to Gavin’s than Tudor’s:

“There are no moral victories,” Grant said. “There is no ‘L’ with an ‘M’ next to it.”

“They made plays down the stretch. They could have easily folded, but they didn’t. They made plays and hung tough. That’s why they are who they are.”

Ed89-Javi did play a great game, there’s no doubt about it and I think he will be a utilitarian type of guard (one who gets the job done) but who maybe lacks in the speed and athletism that the higher tier guards in the ACC have. I tend to think that comparing a point guard now to one that played in the eighties is a difficult comparison because it was a slightly different game back then. The players now days in college are more NBA ready so the level of competition that an average point guard may play against could be a bit more so intense. Corchiani was an incredible college level player who did outstanding things at state; so was Sid respectively. But, when they tried their hand at the NBA, they didn’t fair as well. All I’m saying is, I don’t believe Javi will be the next best thing and I doubt that he’ll sniff the draft when the cheering stops for him at State-if I’m wrong then great!
