“We’re being piloted by a man whose idea of good, long-term planning is to place a six- or seven-year arc for the program in the college decision of a 15 year old.”

And how is this different from the 6 year arc it took before which would have likely been much longer had Julius Hodge not shown up in year 6 of the arc?

I don’t know why you trash Sid so much. Sid may well have to be fired before it is all said and done, but it is not Sid’s fault that he was the only guy who would take the damn job after Fowler made a mockery of the whole coaching search.

Sid did way more for NC State basketball in his first 4 yr tour of duty than Herb Sendek did in 10 yrs, so, if you love Herb so much for all of his contributions, you should at least show Sid some personal respect for his. Again, it is not Sid’s fault he loved the school so much that he was willing to jump into a total mess and try to save it. Lee Fowler hired him and should be fired before there is even a hint of trashing or even firing Sid.

I’ll admit, I am upset with what I see in effort and team spirit right now, but I’ll also say that I did not ever have any confidence that any of those fabulous “five in a row” teams were anything but scheduled flukes, who were doomed before they ever even got off the bus to participate in the NCAAT’s.

Though I don’t particularly subscribe to the thinking that the ONLY way to compete is to have nothing but the very elite HS talent, for those who do and preach about it all of the time around here, there is the fact that Sidney Lowe, in a very limited amount of time, has already brought in at least one kid who is head and shoulders above any that we’ve seen in a Wolfpack uniform in decades.

This is a very frustrating period for sure, and it may, or may not, get better over time, but I’ll still take these coaches and their “two in the bush”, over a dull and predictable plateau, that was once offered by the “one” we HAD “in hand”.
