    ^^should have said…

(good lord…they lost a couple of key players…try losing 2 or 3 of your most proven offensive threats along with a rash of injuries that table guys for the whole season…please…)

Wait til Clem gets their hands on BC next week. Their heads will really be spinning then.

Just wondering if the boys from Chapel Hill will having “still or moving” pictures to show that they were cheated????

Great game Pack! You’ve truly exceeded my expectations for this year! My son and I celebrated the first time that our Alma Maters beat the Tar Heels 3 times in one football season! It has been sweet!

  6. Pack92 11/11/2007 at 1:49 AM #

It really is amazing in the tard pit – whining and gnashing of teeth directed totally at the officiating with the occasional”we got our butts whipped”.

Oh, and the tarholes will be “angry” next year. Sort of like PeeWee Herman I guess. If this rocks their world imagine what it’s going to be like in B-ball season!

terror, I know… but, every now and then I enjoy having some fun….

side note; my girlfriend let me SLEEP through the game… dumpable offense???

  8. beowolf 11/11/2007 at 2:07 AM #

It was good to see Dick Sheridan at the game, too. He should be on the sidelines at every game vs. UNC, in my opinion.

That would depend on the general direction of the relationship, but certainly distressing. I’d make her test drink anything she poured for me from now on. Who knows what other evils she is capable of.

Frank Manor reminds me of this guy on the WRAL and N&O blogs called UNC Alumnus. He’s all about wishing STATE well every week and having a good game and “Go Heels” everywhere, but today the true colors came out. These ‘Hole fans reveal themselves eventually for what they are and i wish they’d just do that and get it over with, i respect that more.

Btw, when you respond to the hole fans keep telling them that UNX is not really our rival, duke is our real rival…salt and vinegar in the wounds, keep it coming.

    GO STATE!!

Now could anyone please explain me how come the big story of the game is not the Pack win but the Carolina come-back-from-the-ashes ?

Both the ESPN and the WRAL video say that

    Beez,

I fell asleep (at least that’s what I’m calling it anyway) before the BC/Md was over, but just so you’ll know, if there is anyone who shouldn’t be pointing out other people’s typos, it would be me. I used to get embarrassed and correct my own, but why bother, I’ve been posting on here long enough so that everyone on this site already knows I’m basically illiterate anyway. Saves me alot of time.

    Thank you Tom O’Brien – In my opinion, a loss yesterday would have been worse than the theft we endured in 2004;

    Thank you Chief Davis for calling your last time out with the clocked stopped after the first down at our six yard line. It gave our defense a chance to rest and removed the option of using a running play in your 4 shots at the end zone – you are no Dean Smith;

    Thank you offensive lineman for not quitting on the season in spite of the abuse I’ve heaped on you all season. For the record, yesterday was the first game this year we had every offensive lineman available to play;

Thank you Chuck Amato – no way you would have won that game but since you were hired, we are 4 – 4 against UNC – Chapel Hill. I’ve criticized your roster building but there are not many teams that have a 3rd team RB of Eugene’s ability; and

And finally, thank you Boston College fans for sending Coach O’Brien our way – could you look any dumber? BC is a loss at Clemson away from being the following agenda item for 8 bowl game committees – How do we keep from being stuck having to invite BC to our bowl game?

    Good article on gopack.com: http://www.gopack.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=9200&ATCLID=1309637
These quotes may appear in some other stuff already linked to on here, I don’t know. This gives a little insight into what TOB has done to the players. Of course we see the results on the field, but it’s interesting to see what he’s done to their mentality and toughness.

Also, to put rumors to rest, there was a handshake at the end:

Great story on Sutton & I do think that captures the sentiment of the team.

I thought Sutton’s first defensive break-up was probably just as important and impressive than the one they discuss, but it was earlier in the quarter. He played one hell of a game.

  17. choppack1 11/11/2007 at 12:03 PM #

LF – good point – he made a great deflection.

Lost in this discussion is that we probably played our best all-around game – sans our punting effort. Unfortunately, 2 TOs for TD in the redzone probably cost us 20 total points. Think about the beat-down this game would have been w/out those 2 plays. (40 to 13).

Great game plan yesterday. We knew how to exploit the Heels when our offense was on the field, and we knew to stop them when our D was playing.

TOB and staff deserve a nice big bonus to show our appreciation. We’ve exceeded our conference win total from last year AND we’ve beaten the Heels and the Pirates.

  18. haze 11/11/2007 at 12:22 PM #

Not sure it’s been mentioned much but Butch’s TO before 1st & 10 at the 7 was a huge mistake.

Better to line up for a quick, safe fade to Nicks (like final play) or even to spike on 1st down. By using the last TO, the Heels lose the running threat in the last series and would have lost outright on a sack or mishandled snap.

That’s a situational call that should be a fundamental part of the 2min drill practice. There should not need to be a call from the sidelines.

Great Game and Great Win for State and TO’B. Just what a “Rivalry Game” should be ….. down to the wire.

As for our bottom-feeders whining about “the refs” …… that’s what bottom-feeders do. We all have’em.

Three of the past four UNC v NCS games have gone into the final minute with the outcome “on the line” ……. part of “the color and pageantry”.

Receiver A85 is airborne in the end zone and possesses a pass but
while airborne is hit by a defender, which causes A85 to fall to the
ground. Immediately upon hitting the ground, the ball comes loose.
RULING: Incomplete pass. An airborne receiver contacted before completing all the requirements of a catch must still maintain control
of the ball AFTER hitting the ground.

  21. noah 11/11/2007 at 1:02 PM #

dbo, clearly you don’t understand. NC State goaltended and traveled on that play. Daniel Evans should have been flagged for fan interference and a balk because the ground can’t cause a double-fault. And they weren’t offsides on Jamelle Eugene’s third-down run because they didn’t move, therefore they didn’t cross the blue line. Just remember, the ground can’t cause the puck to be a mulligan!

  22. noah 11/11/2007 at 1:16 PM #

BTW, I just noticed that there was an “official” link to the “the refs cost us the game” thread at the Tard Pit. Make sure you also swing by the thread over there on “the offsides call.” Make sure you see the post from the guy claiming that since the ball was on the one-foot line, there couldn’t have been a neutral zone.

Apparently, he was watching some other game….wrong one-foot line. There’s 99 yards and two feet of offsides territory on that play.

The evidence continues to fly in. Carolina fans know f*ck-all about football.

  23. geojim1990 11/11/2007 at 1:21 PM #

    Two points:
1- If the zebras were bending the rules in favor of NC State then you think they would have given us the ones that actually were in our favor. For example, tarholes last drive of the game … the thrown away ball that clearly didn’t make it past the line of scrimmage. If that is called correctly the game is maybe over the next play & the holes don’t even get close to the endzone.

2- I agree with telling them that they are not our football rivals but the dookies just don’t work. How about someone that actually is better than them … like the demon douchebags?

  24. noah 11/11/2007 at 1:39 PM #

They think they got robbed on the thrown-away ball because they think the flag was for roughing-the-passer.

  25. Dr. BadgerPack 11/11/2007 at 1:42 PM #

terror- on a good note, SHE watched the game… and wore an NC State shirt. She woke me up around 8 to watch the Gators… (I have back problems, had to take a pill that knocks me out)… Still, I wish I could have watched the Pack pull back to .500! Against Caro-freaking-lina!
