UNC/NC State Kickoff Set For Noon

Will UNC ever play a night game at Carter Finley? In fact, when was the last time UNC at NC State was a night game?

We had a good gameplan in 1997 and we hung with them about as long as we could. That was one of O’Cain’s better coaching efforts (insert joke here). They were absolutely loaded at every single position.

I remember Brian Simmons almost breaking Jamie Barnette in half on a weakside blitz. He was just a blur coming around the corner.

I, too, hate noon games, but I sure didn’t expect a 3:30 kickoff this year between these two teams.
In Columbus they don’t even have lights at Ohio stadium. They actually prefer noon games there (I don’t know why…it’s not THAT cold and it doesn’t get cold till 2nd half of season). Last year when they played Michigan it was a 3:30 kickoff and everyone was up in arms about it…

I remember the 1996 game in Chapel Hill. I went and sat in the student section proudly with my NC State shirt on. They scored on the opening kickoff when they kicked it to us and we fumbled and they recovered in the endzone.
We got killed (what was the final score?) and I think I left at halftime.

Didn’t Texas and Ohio St play a night game in Columbus in 2005?

Michigan doesn’t have lights at their stadium either. I think they are talking about adding lighting towers when they do the Big House renovations in a year or two. They’re finally going to add luxury suites and a new press box.

The Big House is really The Big Hole. It’s built downwards.

When they play night games in Columbus they bring in temporary lights. That’s right, at a stadium that seats 100,000+ and where they just did massive renovations they rent the stadium lights.
They had to do it last year for the 3:30 Michigan game too.

Maybe I am WAY off base.. but it seems rare to have late night games in late Oct/Nov.
I know, I know.. there will be hundreds of examples thrown at me.. but on the whole, it seems most night games are early in the season and day games at the end due to the temperature.
Someone smarter than me may do the analysis on this.. but taking out West Coast games.. how many 7pm games are this late in the year? I count 9 this week.

When is the last time we won an acc noon game?

I, luckily, have a ticket, and won’t have to listen to Walker and the Hog.

AMEN….I too am among the fortunate ones….Why is Hogewood STILL doing ACC games (or ANY games for that matter)? I guess the old saying IS true…It’s not who you know, but who you, well you get it.

VaWolf…the World Series of Poker gets better ratings than the NHL.
of course, so does the National Spelling Bee.
