Take Some Time

We’ve linked the OSU-coach-rant if you are one of the few people who haven’t seen it yet. We have put SO MUCH good stuff on the blog since Friday that we thought this could serve as a little breather and encourage you to spend some time reading some of the great stuff that is on the site. Thanks!

Glenn sticks to the facts and makes logical jusdgements. Most of the other guys just look for someone to diss and get a rise out of. Cute for a while but not for a whole show. When you listen to ESPN folks you hear the professionalism.

Should be interesting with a new FM Sports Radio channel coming. Glenn will probably win his time slot. The AM and other time slots are going to have some competition. Will be fun to watch and see who comes out on top.

Erik Kuselias on ESPN Radio was great – so naturally, they moved him off his show and replaced him with a complete idiot. I do like Mike Tirico taking over the Dan Patrick time slot. I could listen to Mel Kiper talk football all day long.

BS. He has out right lied in the ACCSJ about UNC’s average SAT scores for FB teams in the ACC.

Also, do you remember “where there’s smoke there’s fire” when AJ Davis signed with State after his dad committed him to UNC?

Plus, if you had heard the SOB on a sport’s talk show in VA, you would know that he is about as far from unbiased (wrt State) as is possible.

My opinion, for what it’s worth – the article about the OSU QB was way out of line. Best quote (paraphrased) I found in the web media was that “as a woman, who was this reporter to question Reid’s manhood?” The coach’s response was over the top, on purpose I believe. All sports reporters can accurately be rated on a scale that starts at “Sucks” and gets worse from there. Jim Rome is a waste of time and space. Why he has a job is more baffling than why Keanu Reeves is A-list Hollywood talent . His only contribution to society was being on the receiving end of Jim Everett’s smackdown after Rome refused to stop calling him “Chris Evert”. Hilarious!

One more comment – with respect to Carlson alleging that Gundy “attacked her credibility”: First, one must HAVE credibility in order to have be attacked. I’m still searching for a sports journalist with credibility. Don’t take my word for it – go back and read the articles written by any and every sports hack about how we Pack fans so cruelly chased off HWSNBN. Second, the handprint is still there of the smacking of irony of a reporter who attacks others to turn around and complain about being attacked herself. Third, all the writers associations banding together to criticize Gundy further reinforces my disdain for the profession as a whole. They almost make me want to like lawyers and used car salesmen….

Good man. Yep, he could have been more “professional”, he could have been more “tactful” and not made such a spectacle, but there are times when something gets under your skin and you just let it fly, to hell with the repercussions. It wouldn’t even be news worthy or made any difference if he would have done as some of our more reserved/politically correct, posters suggested. He boldly made his point, got the right person’s attention, and it WILL stick. At least for a little while anyway.
