Pressley Out Indefinitely With Knee Injury

The headline says it all. His replacement Alan Michael Cash will not make the BC game due to the death of his father.

    woohoo!

  5. EverettBeez 09/08/2007 at 4:24 PM #

he is “potentially not the first player who we will see cramping up.”
these guys get paid for doing this?
I’ll save espn the money and do it for free.

  6. MatrixII 09/08/2007 at 4:25 PM #

Yep, I think that scheme worked fairly well so far.

  7. cradletograve 09/08/2007 at 4:27 PM #

he throws into bad coverages, double and triple all the time, he did it last week all the time

    dammmnnnnnnnnnnnnn nation.
I didn’t play football, but darn that seemed like a poor choice.
such a great great drive done in.
3 interceptions. What can you say.

  9. cradletograve 09/08/2007 at 4:28 PM #

how can he be such a good athlete and have so little sense or lack of self control?

    ………….

BC’s coach sounds like he was part of “Da Bears” skit on SNL.

Any bets? Does coach stay with Beck or do we see Evens in the second half?

  12. Dogbreath 09/08/2007 at 4:30 PM #

Beck is a rollout passer. He is not a pocket passer right now. I am not sure that Dan Marino could stand comfortably in our “pocket” right now. We need to get Beck out on the edge where he seems to make better reads and throws.

  13. highonlowe 09/08/2007 at 4:31 PM #

Beck stays in. Great reward for the same risk

  14. highonlowe 09/08/2007 at 4:31 PM #

    *greatER

We cannot run the football, therefore the only choice we have is to throw the ball… Well 10:17 is still better than what I expected.

  16. cradletograve 09/08/2007 at 4:32 PM #

I don’t think evans can read a defense quickly enough or has the arm strength to be a threat

  17. cradletograve 09/08/2007 at 4:33 PM #

the offense unfolds so much more slowly with him back there

  18. packgrad2000 09/08/2007 at 4:34 PM #

Definitely stay with Beck. Not a chance of winning with Evans in there. Beck reminds me so much of Chris Rix. A great talent, but very questionable decision making at times. But I still say we may have the first REAL quarterback since Rivers.

  19. cradletograve 09/08/2007 at 4:34 PM #

we have no, I mean zero running game

  20. cradletograve 09/08/2007 at 4:36 PM #

I think beck is a placeholder until glennon gets here

  21. Dogbreath 09/08/2007 at 4:36 PM #

Lets give Beck the benefit of the doubt, fellas. He is a 19 year old sophomore quarterback and even the great Philip Rivers had some bad halves of football in his first season.

I think he can bounce back, and I actually like the position that we are in right now. 17-10 at the half is much better than I expected, and we are moving the ball against their defense.

If our offensive line will man up, these deep balls have loosened up BC’s defense enough to where we should be able to run some delays and draws underneath the defense.

I maintain that Beck is pretty damned good rolling out, and we need to get him out of the pocket on pass plays.

  22. cradletograve 09/08/2007 at 4:36 PM #

I do think the defense looks great, except for a lot of poor coverages

  23. bTHEredterror 09/08/2007 at 4:37 PM #

He’s A Favrian, Arm strength conquers all, regardless of the number of defenders in the area. At least we get some 1st downs with the turnovers. That last one was bad decision as much for the target of choice for a jump ball pass. Blackmon is great, but Bowens or Dunlap would have had a better shot. Beck did make some checkdowns, and 200+ yards ain’t bad.

  24. tvp1 09/08/2007 at 4:37 PM #

We have to take the good with the bad with Beck. At least for this year, and probably for the next, we won’t have a better option. Let’s just hope he gets better.

It would help if we had any semblance of a running game.

  25. Dogbreath 09/08/2007 at 4:37 PM #

Our secondary is bad. Linebackers are making plays when they are called upon. Defensive line is getting no penetration, but is at least occupying blockers.
