Well, thanks to the virus making it’s way through my children, I will be watching from home tomorrow, and thus likely to live blog. Lucky you, huh? Speaking of which, I’m looking to sell 2 pairs of tickets in Section 27 (each with a parking pass) – leave an e-mail in the comments if interested!
Figuring out this matchup is not rocket science – Clemson is a great running team, and we have had alot of trouble stopping the run in recent memory. One only has to think back to the trap/off-tackle play UCF ran on their first offensive play, which went 80 yards for a TD. Un-fucking-touched! You almost have to try to defend the run that poorly. And Clemson’s backs are just a tad bit faster than those of the Golden Knights. Yes, we did slow down the rushing attack of Wofford. But come on, it’s Wofford, for heaven’s sake. Naturally, I’ll feel alot better if I see Demario Pressley in the starting lineup.
If we slow down the Tigger rushing attack, and Beck makes some plays in the passsing game, we’ll have a shot. If they run wild, we have no shot of keeping up with them in a shootout. No chance at all. My crystal ball says 34-24 Clemson, and I think that’s pretty optimistic.
Side rant – why the hell does ESPN think we need a Notre Dame pow-wow with Bob Davie and Lou Holtz? There’s an actual game going on, and a fairly entertaining one. Fat boy’s Irish are 0-3, and yet to score an offensive TD. I think it’s safe to ignore them, except for chuckling when you see their scores crawl across the ticker. It would be awesome if Duke beat them. Also, Lou Holtz was so entertaining with the press as a coach. Who would have imagined he’d be such an insufferable, preachy, humorless bore as a commentator?
