I actually feel fairly ‘OK’ about this game. Sure, our OL will collapse handily under the pressure of Clemson’s front 7, but their secondary isn’t really that special. Plus they don’t have a copy of our playbook like BC had and Beck will have 150 game minutes under his belt.

  3. packpigskinfan23 09/10/2007 at 2:14 PM #

sorry… I just really HATE noon games unless they are in late November.

If we can win at Noon, I’ll take it.

  5. LRM 09/10/2007 at 3:09 PM #

We better just go ahead and get used to the noon Raycom game from here on out.

At least the impact of the idiotic tailgating restrictions is marginalized.

    ^ Good point.

Beck named the starter. Pressley out for 2-3 weeks.

Time Warner to rebroadcast ECU/UNC game tonight – Channel 24 (TWC) in the triangle. You’ve got to love that. UNC gets beat by ECU on TV twice within 3 days. It was a very entertaining game, I will admit that, and I’m glad UNC made the trip.

crap. driving down from DC for the game. Was hoping for a later start.

Was anyone’s bad time at the UCF game caused by the tailgate restrictions? Just curious.

They didn’t work, by the way. No one got shot, but it was nice to read about the wonderful behavior of State students in the fairgrounds parking lot.

I hate noon games. Especially in September.

Did I miss something? What happened in the fairgrounds lot before the UCF game?

  14. LRM 09/10/2007 at 4:01 PM #

I know the ACC schedules conference games, but the nicest month of the year in NC is October, and yet we always front load our home schedule with September games when it’s a billion degrees outside. Nothing beats those 3:30 games in late October and early November.

“Did I miss something? What happened in the fairgrounds lot before the UCF game?”

There was a lengthy thread on a UCF board talking about the behavior of the students. Several reports of beer being thrown at children, tons of foul language, a few altercations….ya know…kinda the same thing that happens every time a certain portion of the fairgrounds parking lot crowd has to interact with other humans.

Why would UCF fans be in the Fairgrounds parking lot? Isn’t that all permits now?

Maybe they parked in the Vet school lots and went through the Fairgrounds Lot instead of the new sidewalks on Trinity.

i.e. College kids having fun and letting out energy from a week of study. If I’m looking for well behaved college kids a tailgate is probably a place I would avoid. If you like your students acting like they are on opium try visiting the Baptist student center.

ACC NOW has an update on Pressley’s injury, he’s be back in two to three week.

I actually feel fairly ‘OK’ about this game.

You have got to be kidding.

Against UCF, State gave up 206 yds on 43 carries for 4.8 yds/rush.
Against BC, State gave up 231 yds on 39 carries for 5.9 yds/rush.

State will get absolutely crushed by Clemson.

I was witness to some of that behavior on the part of State students at UCF and I hate to admit it, but the UCF bloggers are not out of line. My wife and I had to listen to a couple of drunken students scream unprovoked profanities at a small group of UCF supporters who were simply going to the game to support their school.

There were young children present from both sides at the time, and what we saw/heard goes well beyond College kids having fun. It was uncalled for, truly embarrassing, and I would hope that no State fan would ever have to be subject to the same at any road game.

I think that a few well placed State Troopers or Sheriffs Deputies could end these problems for good by holding the very few that cause these problems out of the game. Especially if the University would follow it up by suspending the offender’s ability to get tickets for future sporting events.

This would certainly work better then volunteers in red shirts, don’t you know that really sets them apart, making polite suggestions. And I don’t mean any disrespect to the Volunteers for the Partners Program, I appreciate their willingness to assist.

They threw beer on our children? Those bastards!

I think we should start the clemson game at noon, but tell clemson it starts at 7pm.

  22. Girlfriend in a Coma 09/10/2007 at 5:15 PM #

This is the first I am hearing about any problems at the UCF game.

I thought the students’ parking was moved over to the North Arena lots somewhere to avoid this exact situation. (?)

The only area of large public parking is the Vet School lot. Why would we let that dunken student zoo back into the area through which we know opposing fans have to walk?

Who is in charge of this stuff? Stafford? The whole gameday crowd-control issue, from A to Z, is one gigantic cluster.

  23. 66pack 09/10/2007 at 5:15 PM #

the problem has always been the students and non students in the fairgrounds which the tailgate policy does not affect.ncsu should ask the state to police the area and enforce the no drinking on state property.how about arresting the drunks.all alumni should be embarassed by these so called students.

  24. noah 09/10/2007 at 5:22 PM #

This has been going on for at least 10 years. I had the unfortunate experience of parking away from the stadium and walking through that area for the N. Illinois game and saw some opposing fans get assaulted.

After that, I kept my ear out for stuff like that. The next year, Syracuse fans talked about the way they were treated. Seems like every year, the reports keep coming.

It’s disgraceful. It’s hardly “college kids having fun.” Whoever posted that ought to have their fucking head examined. We’re not talking about “kids” getting a little rowdy and talking junk. We’re talking about adults (and if you’re 21…you’re not a kid) getting in the face of a little kid and screaming at them.

Same sh*t every year. And then we wonder, “Gee, why do they treat us like children?”

    Duh.
