Anthony Hill Out With Knee Injury?

There seems to be a story floating around Wolfpack Football that All-ACC tight end, Anthony Hill may be out for the season with a knee injury?

The threads about the subject keep getting deleted off of The Wolfpacker and PackPride..so we figured we would break the news “embargo” to see if anyone had any credible information on the topic.

What has leaked from the threads is that Hill was told it was a torn ACL… but then he went for a second opinion to find out it may only be sprained.

are all three of the recruits reported as not coming academic casualties? Or more cases of people who just decide they don’t want to play football anymore?

How can you not qualify yet enroll in school? Does this mean the NCAA didn’t approve, yet our own admissions is letting him in…also, will he pay his own way or does it count for a scholarship year, redshirt???

    Lush – indeed it was.

Pamlico – Linney, Whaley and Ellis did not qualify. Vogt, Miller and Smith are transferring. No word was given on why they are transferring.

SC – I mis-typed. Ellis is going to try and enroll in January apparently. He’s apparently going to try and up his SAT scores this fall.

Seems that the serious pieces of this news were Ellis not qualifying and Vogt transferring. Linney may be very good but I believe that most sites already had him headed to Hargrave. Whaley, qualify or no, would have been a RS and wait for development guy in any case.

If Ellis can get his score this Fall, this may not be an issue at all for him. Work hard and stay out of trouble this Fall and then show up in January, have a decent Spring practice and get up to speed on college classes. Come into next Fall as a true Frosh but ready to contribute to a greater extent than what he could have done this year.

Vogt wasn’t a superstar but his loss is significant b/c of his position. He was quality depth at a position of relative weakness.

The Miller and Smith losses are, sorry to say, probably best for all concerned. They get a new start. TOB gets open scholarships.

Linney might need more than a year at Hargrave. I don’t know…but the last person I talked to mentioned JUCO. I don’t know how close they were to the situation though.

This could be a sign of the times. Ellis was recruited by CTC, re-recruited by TOB and retained. We have had some decent success recruiting DB’s and quick LB’s (athletes).

Now we are hoping for a more sturdy course from the new staff in Raleigh: Better character, upgrades in OL, and the right fit at QB, amonst other things. Not getting Whitley (who airs his verbal commit), and other high profile athletes in the defensive backfield may become more and more common.

Hopefully Ellis can continue his process of being at State. He and current Frosh Simmons could be two bright stars for us in the future.

My gut tells me that alot more Culliver, Blanton, Whitley stories are to come from here on out, but we will see how it all pans out. It’s not as if any of these great athletes CTC was inticing in were getting any interception’s anyway.

Noah, thanks sincerely for filling in the gaps.

I can still visualize Miller’s picture at a football game being flashed all over another Wolfpack website. He was hyped to no end. I’m sorry to hear things didn’t work out for all of the above-mentioned kids.

    crackdog – no problem.

GaWolf – yep, he was a big time DE prospect. FSU recruited him pretty hard.

The official annoucement has just been made…Hill had reconstructive surgury today and will miss the season.

So it was censorship on the part of the message boards, and the rumours (as they often are) were correct.
