with Fells, Grant, Costner, Trevor & Horner we should have plenty of 3pt shooters. If Degand and/or Johnson can hit at a decent %, gravy.

    Cedar,

I wouldn’t exactly call Grant or Ferguson 3pt shooters from what they’ve shown us.

TOB has picked up another recruit. A LB out of Florida.

The holes finaly got a comit. A 3 star wide reciever from VA ranked #63.

If Trevor steps on the floor, then we’re either ahead by 40 or down by 40, so it won’t really matter.

  6. ChuckAllYall 06/29/2007 at 10:24 AM #

Agreed westwolf. Depth should be a refreshing change from last year.

Fells was very inconsistent from the outside. I would not consider him a stand-out 3pt shooter yet. If he can increase consistency, he could be very good though. When he was “on”, it was scary.

I would think Grant & Fells would be working on their 3pt shot this off-season. We’ll be fine. Also, I wouldn’t write off Trevor just yet.

cedar, i wrote trevor off midway thru the season last year. if he even sniffs the court this year in any real game situation (ie, we arent up by 30 or down by 30) then i will be very very surprised.

whoops. The gist of the rest of that is TFerg is awesome.

what can i say? im a classy guy

Maybe I’m off base, but it seemed to me like Fells was becoming more consistent toward the end of the season. Hopefully he was, and it will carry over to this year.

Fells was playing some really good defense during the later part of the year.

  16. ChuckAllYall 06/29/2007 at 2:24 PM #

    consistently mediocore.

  17. ChuckAllYall 06/29/2007 at 2:29 PM #

    or mediocre.

  18. packbackr04 06/29/2007 at 3:32 PM #

i agree with Chuck, fell’s D got BETTER, but it was never REALLY good. it was consistent, and it was good. but never consistently really good. hopefully sid will light a fire under his ass and get him to pick it up. its wither that or put him on the pine right next to TFerg. Fells could be one of the best players on the team “athletically” speaking, but he has a hard time keeping focused and playing tought for 40 min’s.

“I would think Grant & Fells would be working on their 3pt shot this off-season. We’ll be fine. Also, I wouldn’t write off Trevor just yet.”

This is far different than saying they are good shooters. Right now they are not consistent. Fells has the opportunity to be but I think Grant’s form will keep him from being a great shooter.

    Leave TFerg alone T__T

does anyone know where I can find a complete recording of the unc vs nc state game from this past year in basketball??? THe one we won and the acc championship, please let me know if you know where I can find it at

I wouldn’t describe Fells as consistently mediocre. Seemed like in certain games he was hot and couldn’t miss and in others he stunk. I guess you could average that out to “mediocre”, but not consistently mediocre. Horner was the only player with >40% 3pt shooting (47%) followed by Costner at 38% and Atsur at 37%. Fells shot 33% and Grant 31%. Fergie had 40% but only took 15 shots so it’s not too meaningful. I hope Costner does not have to attempt many 3-pointers this year. Seems like most of his were desperation heaves at the end of the game. His talents are best used under the basket IMO.

I will say this again…..McCauley is a freaking MONSTER!!

Travel “shuffles” Walksbrough couldn’t stop him very often last year, and I don’t expect that to change too much. Then when we can throw more bodies at him and keep our guys fresh…OMFG!

I think Fells and Costner 3PT % will go up from last year. A year of working on the shot and with our inside game, Fells should get plenty of nice looks with fresh legs under him. I would love to say I think GG % will go up, but I doubt it. Horner has a nice stroke but how many shots will he actually be able to get up per game? I don’t know about any of our PG’s from deep but from what everyone has said, none of them are known to be experts. After watching Tracy Smith play this past season, I think he will end up with a solid outside game but doubt next year he will be a huge threat. As we seem to go back to time and time again, PG will be the key. (Assets from deep? Who knows?)
