is it my paranoia that no one is talking about Tracy Smith? Don’t get me wrong, I like this team with or without him. But I sure would like to see him suit up.

I can honestly say that I am very excited for both football and basketball this year. I think we all get that way this time of year with a reasonable sense of optimizm. I feel that we really do have 2 very STRONG and COMPETENT LEADERS at the helm. Go Pack!

Does anybody have a link to the audio from the PC?

  3. primacyone 06/28/2007 at 11:22 AM #

There is an audio link on this page:

Have any of you engineers done any calcualations on how many basketball scholarships we will have available for the 2009 class?

Would we have enough for two five stars and two four stars? Suposedly we have two of each that are intersted, etc.

if hickson leaves and costner leaves, and bartosz leaves we will have some room.

    Thanks Primacyone!

I think we can have four open spots for ’09. McCauley and Fells will be seniors in ’08 and assuming Hickson and Costner leave early.

    Somebody check me on that.

Was glad to see that Sid stated definitively that Gavin will NOT be running the point next year – contrary to previous conjecture by some sports bloggers.

  8. BJD95 06/28/2007 at 2:09 PM #

Anybody who thought we would let Gavin run the point (with 3 other guys available that have a pulse) is batshit insane, IMHO.

However, he does seem to like my “big lineup” idea, although with Gavin instead of Horner at the 2.

  9. tooyoungtoremember 06/28/2007 at 2:25 PM #

I really hope Horner doesn’t get lost in the mix. He seemed to really come into his own at the end of the year and I really like what he added to the mix.

This year we have too much talent to get them all on the floor at one time! Crazy! What a difference a year makes.

  11. primacyone 06/28/2007 at 3:30 PM #

Another nice recruit just comitted to TOB. 6′ 6″ Mike Glennon from Virginia – 16th ranked QB in the country and supposedly a nice fit.

  12. PackGirl 06/28/2007 at 3:39 PM #

^I agree that Horner is key. If he can maintain his 3-pt shooting % from last year (46%) but increase the number of shots he takes (only had 48 last year) he could be a major outside threat. With Engin gone, we desparately need some outside shooting. Does anyone know what we should expect from the incoming freshman as far as outside shooting?

  13. Pack92 06/28/2007 at 3:41 PM #

Horner was just beginning to show his develoment at the end of the year. What a shooter that kid can be!

Is Glennon confirmed? The only one we need now is Manning!

  14. doatesIII 06/28/2007 at 4:00 PM #

There is nothing like forced playing time to make a player improve quickly.

  15. packbackr04 06/28/2007 at 4:28 PM #

i hear that Glennon kid could be THE ANSWER at QB. i know i know Marcus Stone was supposed to be the second coming of Rivers but up until a few days ago, that Glennon kid didnt even have an offer. he must have liked his experience at camp this week and TOB and Bible mustve liked what they saw too

  16. packbackr04 06/28/2007 at 4:29 PM #

i know its cliche but, the pack is BACK!

  17. packpigskinfan23 06/28/2007 at 4:29 PM #

I am excited to hear about this Glennon kid! He’s a big guy… like Philip, and from the videos on Rivals he seems to be able to lead his runner very well.

  18. packbackr04 06/28/2007 at 4:30 PM #

after 20 years of fear and loathing in Raleigh. its finally starting to look good for NCSU athletics.

  19. lush 06/28/2007 at 4:51 PM #

“that Glennon kid didnt even have an offer”

    “Very impressive offer list –
    Florida State
    Miami (Fl)
    Michigan
    Michigan State
    North Carolina State
    Virginia
    Virginia Tech”

    color me confused

  20. primacyone 06/28/2007 at 4:59 PM #

Gleenon not have an official offer from us until last night. TOB brought in two top QB’s to camp without offers. He wanted to see them at camp before making one or both an offer. I assume TOB/Dana Bible liked Glennon best during camp, etc.

Pretty strong statement that Glennon had all of those other offers offically, came to our camp without an offer, and pretty much accepted on the spot.

  21. the_phisherman 06/28/2007 at 5:00 PM #

I don’t think we had offered him as of earlier this week.

  22. primacyone 06/28/2007 at 5:01 PM #

Dang, I’m typing like redfred today.

  23. bTHEredterror 06/28/2007 at 10:39 PM #

No great perimeter shooters in this class, but JJ does have some range. I think Degand and Johnson are average outside shooters from what I’ve read, but I haven’t seen them play. Glennon is a big get, hell I LOVE to see our name at the top of that list of schools.

  24. choppack1 06/28/2007 at 11:04 PM #

I know we don’t usually feed trolls around here, but Andrew Jones did an absolute hackjob that really makes me question his motives.

  25. packbackr04 06/29/2007 at 8:58 AM #

    lush^ color me confused

as other posters above were saying, what i meant was he didnt have an offer from us until camp and then he accepted. sorry for the confusion.
