Archie Miller Leaves Arizona State to join Ohio State staff

NC State grad Archie Miller has bolted Herb Sendek and gone to work for Thad Matta at Ohio State. Unlike Sean (who left Sendek/NC State for Xavier) Archie is taking a big step up in stature.

Cedar, man, c’mon. I’ve gotten use to your relentless defenses, but why in world do you insist on bringing up names like Josh Powell, or even Damien Wilkins, and the like, in similar posts defending ” “‘s recruiting expertise or coaching style? I would be absolutely embarrassed to even mention those names.

By the same token, why throw out strawmen like “Oden would have been tossing treys?”

  3. CedarGroveWolf 05/30/2007 at 8:55 AM #

    ^ exactly

  4. Rick 05/30/2007 at 8:58 AM #

Josh Powell liked being here so much he left with no hope of beign drafted.

Quite the example Cedar brings up. He makes my point for me.

    Good Job!!!

“By the same token, why throw out strawmen like “Oden would have been tossing treys?””

So I can make the monkey dance.
    I am the puppeteer.

I wouldn’t want to answer my question either.

  7. lush 05/30/2007 at 10:56 AM #

then why would you ask it? because you are like a 5 year old trying to prove how much better/cooler/smarter you are. pretty sad.

  8. CedarGroveWolf 05/30/2007 at 11:47 AM #

    ^ simple question.

  9. Rick 05/30/2007 at 12:17 PM #

    See my monkey dance?

    Dance, Monkey, Dance!!!!

  10. CedarGroveWolf 05/30/2007 at 12:21 PM #

    I’d change the subject too.

  11. Rick 05/30/2007 at 2:02 PM #

4 posts and you only used a grand total of 15 words.
Even mroe interestingly there was not a single sognitive thought interlaced amoung those 4 posts.

    Dance Monkey Dance

  12. CedarGroveWolf 05/30/2007 at 2:20 PM #

    keep avoiding the question.

  13. Rick 05/30/2007 at 3:03 PM #

    Answer my question first.

  14. redfred2 05/30/2007 at 3:55 PM #

how many treys did Ced & Powell throw up?

    Cedar,

I’ll answer your question. Let’s see, I don’t really remember any thee pointers from the poor kid who walked away from the program too early. But I do think (?) I remember at least one, top right of the key by Simmons.

Yep, that one shoot, a miss, from just a foot or two beyond were he was normally asked to post his 6’11” frame and 7′ 4″ wingspan.

There may have more shots, I don’t really remember, not very many though. But what was your point again?

  15. CedarGroveWolf 05/30/2007 at 4:09 PM #

    what question Rick?

Point is Ced & Powell didn’t shoot 3’s. Oden wouldn’t shoot 3’s. you were trying to be funny, I know.

  16. Rick 05/30/2007 at 4:10 PM #

    “what question Rick?”

    Dance my sweet monkey dance

  17. redfred2 05/30/2007 at 5:11 PM #

    Cedar

Your point is that Powell, Simmons, or even a Greg Oden for that matter, wouldn’t shout from the spot, or a foot or two beyond, where their coach had them positioned while running(?) a standard(?) offensive(?) set.

Now does that sound like you’ve made a point in your and ” “‘s favor, or what?

  18. redfred2 05/30/2007 at 5:38 PM #

the word is ^SHOOT not “shout” in that last post

and my post before that one ^SHOT not “shoot”

  19. redfred2 05/30/2007 at 10:54 PM #

Off day, lackadaiscal typing and pitiful effort all the way around. It was just routine day though, no more important than any other. It isn’t like I can’t type my way back into it on different day, with some less challenging words.

  20. beowolf 05/31/2007 at 8:34 PM #

Both Simmons and Powell shot three-pointers. Not many. But for a hair-splitter like CedarObsessive, that would be a HIGH CRIME if it had been said about Saint Sendek.

By the way, Rick, excellent job on the puppetwork. There aren’t many who insist on dancing on the strings even AFTER they found out they’re being played.

like I said, I’d change the subject too if I made a stupid statement & got called on it.

  22. beowolf 06/01/2007 at 10:43 AM #

Let’s see. You made a stupid statement (“Ced & Powell didn’t shoot 3’s”) and got called on it. And look, you just changed the subject.

    Say, you’re right!

  23. CedarGroveWolf 06/01/2007 at 10:52 AM #

you yourself said they didn’t shoot many 3’s. Thx for proving my point.

  24. Rick 06/01/2007 at 10:56 AM #

No fair, you are stealing my puppet.

If Ced or Josh shot one three it was too many.

    Dance, puppet dance

  25. beowolf 06/01/2007 at 11:06 AM #

Jester, you said they didn’t shoot threes. They did. So unless your point was you are humorless, easily played AND incapable of simple logic, I can’t see how proving you were flat-out wrong is “proving your point.”

X does not equal Not X. Not even Curry Math went that far.
