The Dream is Alive!

What tired legs? The Pack only commits one turnover against the late Hokie press, and nails free throw after free throw (while VT barely cleared the 40% bar from the charity stripe). I have no idea how in the hell we could manage to derail the UNC freight train tomorrow…but there’s nobody I would rather to go into battle with than Coach Lowe and this group of players (well, I would like Rodney Monroe to leave the stands and lace them up). Your final score – NC State 72, Virginia Tech 64.

At the PC, he said that he picked up about 10am. Should be no problem for tomorrow.

Insert “picked up the red coat from the dry cleaners” so that my last post makes sense.

Great press conference! Thanks for the link. Its easy to see why Sidney has the respect of his players.

Except that tomorrow is Sunday – probably in Florida that doesn’t make any difference though. Here it would be a serious problem.

I was wondering how VT could keep missing free throws until I heard the post game press conference with Sidney (on the radio in Houston, Tx. mind you) and he said it was Coach V’s birthday today.

Remember the 1970 triple OT over #1 seed USC, 1983 over #1 UNCX & #2 UVa, 1987 with the run from the #6 position. During yesterday’s PC Sidney and Costner both said that State went to Tampa to win the Tournament. You have to believe when you see Neiman and Horner contribute and pick up the slack for McCauley, Costner and Atsur.

It is rare for a team to win a tournament like this without winning one game at less than their best. We got that one today. Coach Sloan and Coach Valvano would be proud of their pupil. I just want the picture tomorrow of the first Everett Case Award winner to coach an Everett Case Award winner. That would add another remarkable chapter to the history of NC State Basketball.

Phantom call? I hate to think of how deep a feeling of “The World Owes Me” you have to have shoved up your rectum to think that Del Negro didn’t get fouled on that play.

  7. chris92heel 03/10/2007 at 8:29 PM #

I could have that deep a feeling…or a sense of humor.

Next thing you know, you’ll be telling me that the TE’s knee in 1986 DIDNT touch…or that Dudley Bradley stripped Clyde Austin clean. OR that Steve Norton actually travelled…

  9. chris92heel 03/10/2007 at 8:32 PM #

    TE’s knee touched.

    Dudley picked Clyde clean.

And that was NOT pass interference in the endzone. ;>

    92heel, you’re a WOLF in sheep’s clothing!

I loved how Sid remarked that it was Coach V’s B-day! What a class guy, and WHAT A COACH!

“I just want the picture tomorrow of the first Everett Case Award winner to coach an Everett Case Award winner.”

Lowe is amazing. As a point guard he was a coach on the floor; as a coach he is a point guard on the sidelines.

Not only can he coach….he can do the press conference too. Herb couldn’t do either. There is absolutely no freakin’ way we win that game at the end if Herb was at the helm. Sid has the closing power of Valvano. If we’re close at the end he knows how to put the other team away. AWESOME AWESOME interview. He puts forth the best possible PR for our program. Sid is THE MAN! I hope our legs hold out for tomorrow. WE NEED TO TAKE IT TO THE HOLES!

I decided not to cut and paste, but as I said Thursday afternoon — I hope he plays Neiman, Horner, Clark, etc. to get the guys some rest early in the first half — He did exactly THAT. KUDOS to Coach Lowe, and the entire coaching staff — he picked his assistants well, too!!

and yes, you will see me in Church tomorrow morning praying, albeit with a 4 day old beard… GO PACK!

The red coat is coming. That’s a good one. I will be pulling for the red coat this time. The blue on the other side is the wrong shade.

  18. Packster 03/10/2007 at 8:59 PM #

    YEAH BABY YEAH BABY YEAH!

  19. WolfEyes 03/10/2007 at 9:19 PM #

I will wear my red blazer to church tomorrow as proudly as I did to work Friday, and the Sunday after the Lowe premiere when we beat UNX in Raleigh.

  20. WolfEyes 03/10/2007 at 9:22 PM #

A PREDICTION, no mask for Hansbrough tomorrow.

I love this scrappy Pack team. What a year! You just know Sid will have them as pumped as they can be. If each one of them brings their best effort, we sure do have a chance. I believe they can do it. One game away from what was considered impossible a week ago. The exciting thing about this adventure is, it’s obvious the kids believe too. Even the ones that only get a little playing time. Thanks Sid.

  22. Clarksa 03/10/2007 at 9:31 PM #

I’m still in shock. However, it’s not over yet. We have been in this position 3 times before in the last 11 years. I hope we finish it out and bring it home tomorrow. Go Pack!!!

  23. chris92heel 03/10/2007 at 9:43 PM #

wolfeyes, Tyler probably wears it again. For one, he played MUCH better today with it. Plus, doctors have said if he takes another direct blow it could lead to a complete break.

An omen? Herb Sendek’s old team, Miam of Ohio, which wears red, just upset Akron for the MAC championship. Miami’s record: 18-14.
