The Dream is Alive!

What tired legs? The Pack only commits one turnover against the late Hokie press, and nails free throw after free throw (while VT barely cleared the 40% bar from the charity stripe). I have no idea how in the hell we could manage to derail the UNC freight train tomorrow…but there’s nobody I would rather to go into battle with than Coach Lowe and this group of players (well, I would like Rodney Monroe to leave the stands and lace them up). Your final score – NC State 72, Virginia Tech 64.

Our bench is getting better. We have some tired starters for sure, but I think Horner,Nieman, Clark, and Fergueson really came in and new their roles. That is a sign of great coaching and a by product of hard work. For all the ups and downs of this season, to have you team gelling at the end of the season is the ultimate goal of every program, whether its UCLA or Arkansas Pine Bluff. Way to go guys, keep it going. Go PACK!

    BJD,

    @ BC, @ duke.

And yeah, its damn fun to be able to have a W over State mean something. Though I was wondering how many games in a row Roy could beat Herbie.

Iv said it before and Ill say it again, State is winning the ACCT

Chris, I’m surprised Roy hasn’t scheduled the home-and-home with Arizona State yet. You ought to look into that.

Someone bring me Gregg Doyel’s head on a platter! Still waiting for that “Gee, Sidney Lowe turned out to be a great coach” column. I won’t hold my breath.

btw, it’d be cool if Roy broke out his blue blazer for tomorrow’s game.

Sid mentioned on the postgame that he needs to find a place to get the jacket dry cleaned before tomorrow’s game. I think he needs to wear it regardless, the stinkier the better!

Well Chris if Carolina wins it’s just what everybody expected. The number one seed defeats a worn out but scrappy 10 seed. The big story of the weekend is still the pack winning 3 straight games against highly ranked teams. But if we win! Well just run that through your mind for a little while.

  13. highstick 03/10/2007 at 7:25 PM #

Sid better not get that coat cleaned!!!!!!!!!!!! Not until we’re eliminated or have one it all!

I think that’s funny about Greenberg. Sid pwned him today. He took a tired, young team with a gimpy PG and 17 turnovers and STILL won by 8. Hats off to Ferguson, Neiman and Horner for holding down the fort when the Pack really needed it. Winning when Ben and Brandon had tough nights on offense makes this even better.

    I love that attitude.

Fells and Grant will be key tomorrow. If they can play solid D for their 35+ mins, we should be hangin around at miracle time. I will name my firstborn Sidney, boy or girl, if we win this one. Quote me.

I’m not washing ANYTHING, and I don’t give a flying you-know-what how bad it smells.

one concern i have for tomorrow is that I saw UNC getting away with a lot of excessive handchecking that teams like Carolina can get away with; on the flip side, refs at NC State games in the tourney have been very forthright on protecting our bigs from fouling-like behavior. hopefully it will be called fair and be a non-factor.

great run guys, is Justin Gainey in the house? and this whole red jacket thing has taken a life of it’s own:

*Sid better not get that coat cleaned!!!!!!!!!!!! Not until we’re eliminated or have one it all!*

Comments have suggested that he’s had it cleaned after each game. Don’t have any solid info on that, but something I read and recall in one of the hundred articles about this tourney run.

highly recommend the press conference, watch it until they get to the last few one on one questions with Sidney . . . that’s why he is going to be a great coach.

^He’s not going to be, he is a great coach. And we should all thank our lucky stars just to have him back in Raleigh.

    ^Agreed!

  23. chris92heel 03/10/2007 at 8:02 PM #

I’m having uncomfortable visions of 1987 and a phantom foul call in favor of Vinny Del Negro. LOL.

  24. PackGirl 03/10/2007 at 8:10 PM #

He has had the jacket cleaned after each game – but this is the fastest turn around and it may not be possible. Obviously, he needs to wear it anyway. And I’m not sure that the added perspiration isn’t a good thing.

  25. VaWolf82 03/10/2007 at 8:16 PM #

I’m not sure why, but State fans were only outnumbered about 3/2 at the local Buffalo Wild Wings here in Central VA. There may have been some UVA fans cheering against VT, but the table in front of me was full of people wearing State hats.

As soon as the horn sounded, the guy at the table in front of us started the WOLF-PACK cheer. My 15 year old, was the only one that responded with PACK on the first one…I didn’t even understand what he said.
