    Here’s a link from a “NIT-ologist”. I thought my job was meaningless.

A rematch with Alabama would be interesting.

It will be very interesting to see what Wolfpack team shows up for these games. (assuming we’re in it) Will we be the terror of the ACCT, or the team that showed up for the Miami game?
The NIT should be a disappointment to them, and I think it is. Sid will have to go a bit to get them cranked up again.
Not sure how quickly this thing kicks off, but I hope we get a long break to recover.
Hopefully Sid can sell them on the NIT being practice for our NCAAT run next year.

I really hope the NIT isnt a bummer for them. They should be VERY proud of what they have done.

its really sad that a team that played four GREAT games in a row, all against NCAA teams, dosnt get in at all. not to mention that one of the teams they came SOOOO damn close to beating is being concidered as one of the top 4 teams in the country. I love the Tourney. I really do. But it is just as flawed as the BCS. (ok… maybe not THAT flawed.)

I don’t think the NIT should be viewed as a disappointment and I don’t think it will be. If we all remember, at the beginning of the season, we were picked to finish last in the conference, which would have meant NO POSTSEASON at all. I’m very proud of my PACK, and I think that they will play a heck of a NIT to send Engin out on a great note. Without his leadership this year, we would have been last place in the league. He held the guys together, and was the one who helped them gel into a TEAM. I hope our PG for next year has the leadership that Engin has, our front line certainly is looking good. I just hope Sid can keep this up, if I remember correctly, Herb’s first team made a run in the ACCT as well.

Am I the only one that thinks that Dean being on the NIT committee actually helps us to get in?

  7. wufpack 03/11/2007 at 8:12 PM #

I’m pretty sure you’re the only one that thinks we need help to get in. I was as pessimistic as anyone about us getting in even after the Duke win. But the UVA win got us in, and the VT win took out any possible doubt. Our quality of play today likely got us a home game or two.

I personally would love to see us have a home NIT game to show our heart felt appreciation for what they accopmplished this week.

NCSU vs. Drexel in 1st round

  11. Astral Rain 03/11/2007 at 8:21 PM #

Bring on Drexel. They’re a good time, a tough game, a good venue (they’re a Philly team right?).

  12. Wulfpack 03/11/2007 at 8:30 PM #

Philly team. Bruiser Flint head coach. Very fiery. Very athletic. 23-8. Wins over Syracuse, Vermont, Nova, Temple, St. Joe’s, Hofstra, Creighton. If we get past the Dragons, we’ll likely have to face Oklahoma State. That would be one hell of a game. Also interesting that we were seeded in the same bracket as Bama and WVU.

  14. Astral Rain 03/11/2007 at 8:33 PM #

  15. aPACKadeez 03/11/2007 at 8:33 PM #

The higher seed hosts…which means no games at RBC…we are a 6. I do wish we could let the guys know how much we appreciate their work ethic and perserverance this past weekend.

  16. dthompson44 03/11/2007 at 8:34 PM #

Drexel will host, as higher seed
they will be very motivated, snubbed by NCAA

  17. Wulfpack 03/11/2007 at 8:35 PM #

^Tuesday or Wednesday at Drexel. If Okie State beats Marist, we likely won’t get a home game.

First Round: Tuesday and Wednesday, March 13 and 14, 2007

Second Round: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday, March 15, 16, 17 and 19, 2007

Quarterfinal Round: Tuesday and Wednesday, March 20 and 21, 2007

Think Atsur will play- this could be his last game. Honestly, I expect the game we’re only a slight favorite…
