NIT Game Specifics

The administration was able to work this out exactly as it should be. (Link) The gymnastics meet has been moved to 4pm.

One thing that the announcement does not cover is what time will the doors open for the basketball game? With general admission seating for the basketball game and the gymnastics event limiting how early the doors will open…this piece of information is important.

The following is from the announcement and edited for some additional information that we have received:

Following Tuesday night’s win at Drexel, the NC State men’s basketball team will continue its quest for the NIT Championship at home on Friday night. Sidney Lowe and company will play host to Marist in Reynolds Coliseum in a game that tips off at 9:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPNU.

The sixth-seeded Wolfpack (19-15) upset third-seed Drexel on Tuesday, while seventh-seeded Marist (25-8) won at second-seed Oklahoma State. The winner of the game will advance to play the winner of the West Virginia-UMass game on the road next week.

All seating for the game is general admission and tickets can be purchased for $20. Wolfpack Club members can purchase tickets from 2 p.m. today until the game is sold out. Any tickets not purchased by Wolfpack Club members by noon on Thursday will go on sale to the general public. Because of high call volume, fans are encouraged to purchase tickets online at gopack.com, but the numbers to the ticket office are 919/865-1510 or 1-800-310-PACK.

Fans purchasing tickets will be able to pick them up on Friday between noon and 6:30 p.m. at the Vaughn Towers box office at Carter-Finley Stadium. Any tickets not picked up during that time will be at the Reynolds will-call window on Friday evening.

There will be a special code for Wolfpack Club members which will be required at the gopack.com site beginning at 2 pm. Additionally, there will be a limit of six tickets per account.

NC State students can purchase tickets for $5 at the athletic ticket office on Trinity Road, or at Reynolds between 10 am and 2 pm on Thursday.

    GAWolf:

11.2 is for people that receive HDTV through an over-the-air (OTA) antenna. 11.2 is the second digital channel that channel 11 puts out. Typically .1 is the HD version of the main channel, .2 is some kind of weather broadcast and then if the station wants it can put out a .3, .4, etc. Looks like channel 11 decided to put it’d HD version of the normal broadcast on .2.

Probably a bit more info that you really wanted, but it’s basically for people that get HD over-the-air.

Wow, GaWolf, if us CPA’s can get picked on, what make’s the lawyers immune??? LOL!

I think that’s a fantastic idea at Reynolds though! I really hope Sid and this team understand how much this season has meant to a lot of us “lunatics”! I’m proud to have been one and feel very fortunate that we have Sidney, red jacket and all! That’s not the traditional State red jacket, but by golly, it may be now!!!!!

PuebLoweville?? I think we need to rename Reynolds from the “House that Case built” to the “House that Sidney revived”!

*Uh Capt, so give me the reason you think JJ Hickson or any of these kids are coming to NCSU now,*

Please tell me you aren’t seriously saying they are coming here because we are making a run in the NIT. They committed long before we got an NIT invite, and I’m sure the sales pitch didn’t mention the possibility of a stirring NIT run, because thats not what we are about and thats not the goal of the program.

You respond as if I am saying that the coverage we are getting is bad. Its not bad. Its great, I hope it continues. I like the local stories and I like the occasional blurb on espn tv. I seriously doubt its impacting potential recruits like you think it is. Big time recruits don’t care about the NIT.

Moving on, its Friday, its Reynolds reborn day, its the future is bright day. I wish I could be there. Go Pack!

Thanks for 11.2 info, guys. That makes sense.

BTW, I love accountants, I just don’t like to pay them money in NCAA pools. The same goes for most any other sect of society.

What is very dangerous in a NCAA pool is a female CPA who votes based on jersey color and stats! They are killing me this morning! Actually, missed only 3, Duke, Marquette, and Gonzaga.

^^ Highstick, I really wasn’t joking about that. Well, I was joking myself a bit.
FWIW, it’s kind of nice not having to be pissed everytime I see a score come across ESPN. I’m sure next year I’ll put myself again in the way of minor financial disaster to various groups of people who pick NCAA brackets better than I, but as for this year it’s been quite an enjoyable tournament watching the higher seeds lose or at least scramble for victories. All in all, I slept quite well last night.

“Please tell me you aren’t seriously saying they are coming here because we are making a run in the NIT.”

Do I really need to answer a rediculous and totally twisted question like that?

The ADDED press that we wouldn’t be getting if we weren’t in the NIT IS impacting the PROGRAM, the program will be more visable in general because of it, and it does make a huge difference. Once again, I am not dumb enough to think that any potential 5 star just changed his mind when we defeated Marist in Raleigh, BUT, there is the overall promotion of the university itself, a chance to notice the huge and appreciative WOLFPACK fan base, the new coach’s philosophy, and those attributes are definitely getting into some kids heads that wouldn’t have noticed otherwise.

It’s not direct advertizing to any certain recruit, but it will, and has already, done more than the trivial way you and many others were painting it EARLIER.
